The Time "I Don't Wanna Leave You": mystery Linn beat at the very end of song???

My mate just pointed out that there is a little bit of Linn beat at the very end of the song "I Don't Wanna Leave You", it comes in completely unexpected. It sounds like it ended up there by mistake, very weird!

I had never noticed it before, because I never play that song. But it is a cool little beat, possibly one of the first time a Linndrum was used by Prince?

Does anyone know what track this beat belongs to? Or has any more information?
RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Its supposed to be there..the change-up. Its akin to Sly doing changeups in song endings such as Stand.

That is one of my favorite songs including the end change..I wish that end change could go on for 5 more minutes.

It is a really cool little part. It does sound like it wants to be a song all of it's own.

From a lot of interviews I read where Prince talks concerning Jesse Johnson and how he filled in a few times for Morris during the PR period when Morris left, leaves me believing Jesse did do more on the 2nd album than credited, he definately did more work on the 3rd

back then Prince had a dream team of musicians in his band and protege bands, incl Davide Z

they all knew Prince sound and could help him take his vision to the next level.

There is no way I would have let Jesse Johnson out of my camp

Prince obviously groomed Jesse to be an even greater musician & believed in him, I mean Jesse was living with Prince during his most prolific time & he gave Jesse his recording soundboard. So he knew Jesse was destined to be a star. Plus I remember an article in the 80's that said Prince bought several copies of Jesse's debut gold album Jesse Johnsons Review.Devine intervention is what made Jesse leave. It was destined to happen. Prince removing Jesse's name from writing credit was a way to make him stand on his own...

I always think the are or will be some kind of extended version

even on Mountains, it changed up to a nice smooth groove (on album cut)
