Between Tamar, Bria Valente and Andy Allo Who Is More Talented And Would Go Farther?

Since 2006, Prince has recorded albums for Tamar (Milk and Honey), Bria Valente (Elixir) and now Andy Allo (Superconductor). Since the commercial success and artistic acclaim of Adele, it seems like pop music listeners are open to females who can truly sing and write songs. Using Adele as the paradigm, if you were an A&R and Prince took these women to a record company and shopped a deal for one of his proteges, which of these artists would you make the investment in and release their music using the corporate machinery? Taking into account: the music, career trajectory, marketability, downside and upsides.

imo, tamar has the best voice and is the best looking out of the three.

her album was good, her vocals really good and her image was great.

when on stage with prince she always looked good and sounded good

too, wether it was singing her songs or backing for prince. imo she had

the most drive or the three as well.

having said that, i also enjoy bria's album a lot. but that's mainly due

to the songs on it, which are all 100% prince with just her vocals on it.

she never struck me as a stage presence tho, which is probably also a

reason why she never performed live with prince. we can't be sure if

she had anything much to bring to the table other than to lay down the

vocals for her album in the studio.

andy, meh, i don't dislike her, but i'm not that interested. if the prince

tunes on her album are very good i'll probably get it. but beyond just

being kinda pretty, i don't feel her at all. her vocals are ok but they're

not special in any way. i like bria's voice a lot more, in fact.

so if i ask myself: if any of the three would release another album, and

prince had absolutely nothing to do with it, which album would i want to

check out regardless. the answer is, once again: tamar.

Depends on an individual's 'taste' in music. For example, You and I could like the same artist, but doesn't mean we would like every song they sing. As far as record execs, it would depend on what they're looking for at the moment. Besides, all these ladies have their own style of music, so again, it depends on an individual's taste in music.

imo, Bria was the most "Prince-like" protege. I can't say she was the best but she was the one I LIKED the most. Very nice album, nothing deep but nice, nonetheless. I wish she had gone furthur.

All have specific talents so it depends on what arena of "entertainment" u are talking about.

If it were me, I'd go with Tamar across the board.

Overall I'd have to say Tamar as well. She had a great voice and was charismatic as hell. I think Andy's honing her skills and I loved her first album Unfresh. I like the songs I've heard thus far from Superconductor. I like the influence she's having on Prince in terms of releasing snippets of songs and experimenting with new looks, sounds etc. He also seems to be very happy at the moment. Bria had some nice songs but zero personality and P was trying too hard with her. I do agree though that she was the most "Prince-like" in terms of looks (minus the height).

Another vote for Tamar. I saw her in Chicago, and her stage presence was great. She gave us an amazing show.

I liked Bria's album better than Tamar's.. we'll have to see about AA's.. But Tamar clearly has the best voice of the three.

Change it one more time..

Tamar is the most talented. Unfortunately, she's getting a little long in the tooth to be the next pop sensation - not to mention the fact that she is not the physical ideal for it.

Appearance-wise, Andy's got it. Talent-wise, she falls well short of Tamar.

Bria gots nothing. Let's hope she invested her Elixer earnings wisely, cuz unless she finds a rich husband, that's it for her. lol

Back when Tamar was primed to release Milk and Honey, Twitter and Facebook wasn't around, and although Tamar is the best vocalist of the three, Tamar's rock singing ("Red Headed Stepchild") was forced and not believable, and her stage presence is natural and engaging. I doubt Tamar could be a commericial success in today's musical marketplace because I think the audience for her music would be limited to the Tom Joyner market.

Andy Allo is photogenic, cute, brand new to a lot of folks, so alot of people would "fall in love" with her personality and gravitate to someone relatively new to people. Especially after seeing the teaser clip for "People Pleaser", she certainly has star potential and is young enough to capture the "those in the know" crowd.

Tamar.

It's too bad the world isn't ready for the next Tina Turner, because that's what Tamar is.

I think it really depends on true music style and what genre they go into

I count Bria out totally because she didn't even try outside of singing on the album

and 1 video

I think Andy can be sorta set up to fail, if she is being pushed to represent something she isn't, it's hard to say with her, love her look though

Tamar needs to go a different route, do something true to herself but not mainstream

Tamar should go on The Voice.

Huh?

There are lots of folks on that show who have had varying degrees of experience with the music industry. Having worked before would not handicap her there (as it would on AI).

im just asking was she one of the originals, I dont know much about her

I wasnt saying she wouldnt be good on the Voice

I would think if she was a DC member having worked up to that point really young, to backing Prince and having Prince back her, she would be good 4 that show
