Very nice cover artwork,

but this release is going to be another major flop, selling 10,000 copies at most.

-- I think I will pass on this, if I would buy it, then for collector reasons only.

-- nah I have been disappointed too many times the past many years..

I'll pass this time.

Not me.

Me neither. Last associated artist I had the slightest interest in (thought could stand on their own merits) was Jill Jones or maybe Taja Sevelle. Yes, I'm old.

Perhaps by conventional standards of major lable releases you might call it a flop, but for an indy album I think it will do well. Hell, she has more than 10K people following her on Facebook. And you have to remember that Prince is going to be touring again, and she'll be opening for him. Even if its not in the US, she's gonna get exposure most indy artists won't enjoy.

Change it one more time..

She's not signed to a major label but she'll recieve a large amount of attention for being a member of the NPG and for doing solo shows in conjunction with the W2Chicago shows. Her CD will most likely be on sale at the shows. She's shooting a video that will fit well on Centric considering her image and she had a fanbase of her own prior to joining up with Prince. 10000 would be admirable and by indie standards far from a flop. By that categorization most artists flop everytime out.

I am interested in the album because Prince called Trombone Shorty and Maceo Parker to be on the album and those are first-tier musicians. I did listen to her first album and her vocal range is limited but it still has musicality. Her songwriting was pretty much on par with a singer-songwriter who plays at open mics, and indie music festivals. This album is not going to Gold, so commericiality doesn't really matter with this project. This project is really a referendum on Prince's ability to shape the creative vision of another artist without compromising the artist music and Andy Allo's ability to sing and write songs that explore her own identity.

lol That's a dumbass cover. At first I was very impressed cause of the gold & black. On a second look that's not art, it's just a print of her name on a black background. It's stupid, and nobody knows her by that stupid symbol other than Pince fans. She should have used somewhere her real name...!

Anyway, can anyone identify what those numbers are on that phone? Is it Prince's? Maybe we should give him a call to let him know that we want a Prince album, and not andyrevolution? I kinda think he is not getting the point?!

Totally agree, for an artist who's not established and wants to be known on their own - should use the name to market themselves. Because if this album is for Prince fans, I believe most of us don't want it. There some people who might be interested in purchasing because he produced some songs (some who find her hot?) but she's not that talented for me to purchase it. They're trying to be "hip" by using the triangle because they know that's a symbol that's very popular/controversial right now and has been for some years in the music industry. Silly. I know I might sound negative, but I'm just trying to be constructive in my critiscm.

And it looks stupid, just like this entire undeserved endorsement in general.

People keep saying that, but who's going to buy this? What's the expected demographic? Where will these consumers be located? What'll be the age group(s)? Unless, are there really enough 40+ year old Prince fanatics in the US to make this "go Gold?"

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I'm HOPING THIS IS A SPECIAL EDITION online MAIL ORDER version and a more 'shop' friendly version with her name and face on it will come out! Something simple like the promo stuff - nice pic of Andy on a white background with her name in black lettering.

Yes. I know they're trying to be smart with that allo shit/triangle but it ain't all that for a new artist nobody knows outside the org and some other random prince sites. Tamar at least had a nice voice, what does Andy have?

Judging by the logo, I'd presume she has symbolish pussy. So yeah, if all the male Prince fans support her, she'll go double gold, and so far it's 80 percent of MALE orgers supporting this (fact checked by her fb followers going all jerkoff horny oral , including me, cause once all this happens ears become deaf and all you see is the logo.

She has literally almost no female fans, that's a shame considering all that logo pussy control work Prince has put into this project of her pussy

Just like youre shitting on Andy right now, Tamar got the same treatment, right here, lest we forget. But to answer your question, what does Andy have? An equally nice but different voice. A voice doesn't have to be strong to be beautiful.

I agree, plus she had a potentially large audience that would have consisted of various crowds, kinda like Beyonce or Jennifer Hudson, so her album could have sold rather easily with good songs and exposure. The same can not be said about this Esperanza Spalding knock-off. Instead, this is Elixer Pt. 2 with lame packaging (black and gold....."Yellow Gold" ..... "Black Gold" ..... rolleyes).

You're right and I think had she had some nice songs it would have worked out really well for her despite the org, not liking her at the time. But Andy cannot and will never be like Esperanza, she's a real musician - who's been working on her musicianship since she was a child.Ezperanza's music is great.

-BUT I'm out because I'm not into discussing the no talented Allo, any further. I'll listen to the album or the songs that sound interesting because of Prince but that's what we are all doing.

I keep hearing, "Prince fans aren't going to buy this..." ad nauseum. Get over yourselves already! The "Prince fan dollar" isn't as necessary as you all seem to think it is to any artists continued existence! We do not make or break any musician today by our endorsement or neglect. If we were such a viable demographic that needed to be courted to make a project sucessful then Prince should have platinum discs out of the gate everytime. We are not the center of the music universe. Hell, even Prince doersn't cater to us anymore, so why in the hell should any other artist?

Actually, the exact opposite has been said, or at least implied. That's really the only audience this album has.

You know the hypocritical thinking behind that is that Andy Allo didn't actively court us at the start. As with all things Prince the second she joined the NPG Prince fans ran to her FB page and started following her every word like it was gospel. The same way they did with Tamar, Bria and Andy McKee & Damaris. Andy had a audience that had nothing to do with Prince before all of that and that's who will really be pushing her music and recommending it to their friends. The Prince connection will get her some sales but it's hardly the only demographic she's courting. 50% of Prince fans just dying to hear Prince burp because it's been two years since a CD from him dropped.
