Gutted...It's the day I come back from my holidays. I could abandon my wife and jump on a train as soon as we touchdown to catch the gig, or be a gentlemen and accompany her back home. What do ya think? lol.

Yeah, I know! But in reality, I know I'm gonna be tired by the time I get off the plane and my wife will want to head homewards....Think I'm gonna have to pretend this gig aint happening! (lol). I just hope Sheila E doesn't take another 24 years to play these shores again! I'll just have to be content with CAMEO at the end of July...

Not yet, they've been asking fb to suggest a UK act to open for them.

Ah yes, I saw that. Not many funky UK acts I can think of to support them....They should just bring Wendy & Lisa with them or maybe The Secret/Mazarati?? Really hoping Sheila E goes down a storm in July, spurring her on to book another UK date for the following year. (Fingers crossed!).

I saw here "Sheila E" band 4 times in the last 2 years smile She puts on the BEST SHOW!!!

Typical set list:

Open with Love Bizarre done extremely funky and jazzy, way better than the album version.

Lately she's been then doing Oliver's House in a really funky, high energy way. there used to be a cli on you tube.

Then she will probably do some songs from the E Family's new CD. "I like it" is the "Hit" and it's great live.

At some point she'll break it down and do percussion using whatever is handy, and break into a Prince song impromptu.

She MIGHT do Holly Rock.

Of course she'll end with Glamorous Life.

The last few times yes she did. They were selling the E-Family CD and if you bought it she'd sign it.

She was also selling some old tour stuff and as well. the line is VERY LONG smile

Saw her at a private party in march. That set contained a lot of Prince songs, including Love Bizarre, Erotic City and When doves cry. She also did the poem that is in Beautiful Night (but didn't do the song). The band is tight and I really liked her guitar player (a gingerhaired young man).

At the Yoshi performance where Eddie M joined her, I saw the set list and Erotic City was on there, I don't know if it was performed though

during those shows (Brown Mark joined her for America) she did Pop Life A Love Bizarre Olivers House America Glamorous Life HollyRock

She needs to jam: 2 Sexy, Noon Rendezvous, Shortberry Strawcake, Love on a Blue Train and a few other Prince pieces

It was in St. Lucia. If you look up Bobby Sparks and St. Lucia on youtube you'll find a clip he made of his arrival there. Towards the end there is a few minutes of the end of Sheila's set (Glamorous Life).

She did Erotic City with the words, but she sang "funk".

Wow. thank you!

I always wondered how much it woudl cost to hire Sheila for a party..... like are we talkign $10K, $50K, $100K etc. Looks like she had her whole band there too.

Who is "STANLEY"..... that was the person having the party right? Stanley Clarke?
