That's why I suspect Prince must be rolling his eyes at this reality show. I don't have any sympathy for these women because they got paid hansomely in divorce settlements and alimony and had a chance to parlay their association with their exes into something more substantive and waited til VH1 came knocking on their doors to do their own version of Basketball Wives. But like Prince said "what is fame, when everybody wants to be famous?"

If you are a male celebrity and you are considering getting married, let these shows be a cautionary tale on loose lips.

Exactly. If you are trying to state that you are independent of your ex, then do that! But, why do a reality show? These women are simply beautiful, but it is time to stand on your own without the association of your ex-husband. It just brings to mind, what would you do if you had never married a celebrity?

If Mayte is the plantiff "Charlene Friend", then why would you want to have any connection with your abuser? At least she still has Prince's clothing. shrugshrugshrug

Listen, when I saw her mother, Nelly, I KNEW she was Charlene Friend!!! nod

I am not trying to blow smoke, but, Mayte is really milking this...she was really into Tommy Lee when she thought that she was going to hook him as a husband in 2003 and 2004. Remember Tommy Lee's reality show...Mayte was all over him and wasn't sad about Prince at all. Let's tell the truth...

What's this Charlene Friend business? I don't get it?

Charlene Friend filed a lawsuit against Prince stating that he was abusive to her during their relationship. "Friend" was trying to sell some items that she had received when the relationship was active. To make a long story short, Prince and his attorneys stated that she couldn't sell the items in an auction. Charlene Friend and her mother, stated that she was libeled and treated badly because Prince and his crew stated that the items were stolen without Prince's knowledge. "Friend" stated that when she was in a relationship with Prince, he abused her and made "sex tapes" of their dalliances. Per "Friend", Prince was psychologically abusive. Charlene Friend wanted to keep her identity secret when she submitted her items in this auction. This information is a matter of public record.

Thanks. I wonder if she's the same woman that was trying to sell his jacket on Ebay some years back? I actually remember seeing that woman on some news show- footage of her walking into a court room with the jacket he had given her when they dated and she wanted to sell and she was so OOOOOgly! I was like, "Prince slept with that?" (NOT Mayte) this woman looked about 40 and had a ton of plastic surgery- crazy face- long black hair, burnt tan- kind of looked like that Danielle Staub from Real Housewives of New Jersey who said she slept with Prince. I wouldn't swear to it but it looked like her.

Mayte is obviously still not over Prince. She did say he was her first love & U never get over that. Plus just last year she was pitching a fit on Facebook over Prince trying to make her pay for a ticket to see him per4rm live. She still expected him to pay for it! Even though she said they don't talk to eachother anymore. She seems lonely & desperate than all the other ex's. She looks pitiful. I feel sorry for her.

I don't think you EVER get over your FIRST love, you move it to another space in your heart. & funny you mentioned how Prince was supposedly trying to get her to pay for her own ticket to see him perform. I saw the show too and she said she had no contact with him since they divorced, either that was a bald face LIE or she had contact with P's publicist or assistant regarding the ticket.

Anywho ...

Rumor had it that Mayte wasn't allowed to call Prince directly while she was married to him, why would Prince change that after their marriage was over?

Nah seriously, who'd wanna be with a guy like that, these women make him look boring as hell, but I notice those chicks have nothing but money in their minds, as if money rules all marriages around the world, well maybe it does, these chicks need a head scan!

If a man throws money at women and buys them things as a form of affection to attract women, then he will only attract women who are interested in his money.

He brags about what he can "do" for his women... so its no surprise he's surrounded by women who are impressed by that very fact.

I do not think he would have got any of those women if he were poor.

I think she won't sell them until she's fully over Prince and/or finds a new love. She's kept these things for over 10 years after they broke up.

Anyone here still have your ex husband's clothes?

Well... maybe I would of done the same thing wink

F that, this might sound rather cold but, she can sell those things quietly in an auction after P passes on.

$500 is not going to mean a lot to someone who likely got a reasonable divorce settlement, and works bit tv acting gigs that pay more per episode than most people make in a month or two.

If one is going to go the route of selling their possessions in an auction, it only makes cold, hard rational sense that if they don't want to hold onto things for sentimental reasons then they should part with the items when they have their highest re-sale value. Not meaning to sound macabre or like I'm taking a dig at anyone's relationship and their sentimental memories, just looking at the situation in a very objective, black& white kind of way.

I have to admit though, I threw out/burned/donated all of my ex's clothing as soon as our relationship dissolved, but then, his things didn't have any re-sale value either evillol

I would KEEP all that prince stuff because when he croaks it will fetch a pretty penny.

And besides, the china has the M on it and the china is more (The Artist And Mayte) than just a Prince thing.

Yeah... she should sell that stuff when he dies, it'll be worth a very pretty penny.

Wonder if Mani has the same set of Wedding china???

I think if she needs money for her animal rescue project, some of the Prince items could end up at Sotheby's or you never know Prince might offer to buy them back himself. I think she should set up an exhibit for the general public to view the items, which also give an income source for the animal rescue.

Personally living in malibu I can tell you Mayte is over Prince. I use to see her out with Tommy lee a lot. She's nice but a bit spoiled. If you see Tommy's documentry the naked thruth that aired on vh1 .He was going through the child court case with Pam that child drowing in his pool.Mayte was pressuring him to have a child and get married.I like Mayte alot. The reason I think she isn't married is because she wants a rich man.Plus why is she friends with her exes exwife .Plus Tommy's girlfriend Sofi Toufa.

I definitely do agree that she moved on a long time ago (she strikes me as being a passive aggressive person). And she is just milking the Prince connection for the show, cuz really 12 years and how many boyfriends later, please.

I agree she is looking for the good life again and for all the bad things that people say that she went through with him, he also spoiled the hell out of her as well and she wants that feeling/lifestyle again.

Yeah, just look at Nellie! fishslap Oh! I'm turrble! lol

Seriously though, she could probably get a hefty sum now. She even had two of his shirts, and Eddie Murphy's ex took a sniff. I wouldn't doubt it if she asked Mayte to give her one. She might have offered to buy one.

I don't blame Mayte for holding on to those items. She could be over her feelings for her ex, but she knows the value of those personal items. Hell, if she had given them away, you can bet your bottom dollar that at one point those items would be up for sale somewhere, some time.

She'd probably make even more money by selling the china in pieces, like a cup and saucer or one dinner plate, etc. Did she have any silver cutlery to go with it? That would be worth even more. Knowing Prince's tacky taste, the cutlery is gold. stickpoke rolleyes

hope Prince watch this show. and I think he has a look on it

hope that he feels for mayte, and realize that she still loves me, and she's not moved on.

maybe they should meet up again, and let the love goes...

as for the ticket concert, she "was allowed" to watch the show. i suppose that, this response came from an assitante or employees. but certainly not prince... back in the days, during the 3121 shows, they hugged very much in front of people... so I think, hope, that if they will meet up right now; the magic would still happen...

and i'm prett sure, she couldn't say NO!!!

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince
