Jesse Johnson - "Real Life Mode"

Supposedly this is an unreleased Jesse Johnson album recorded in the 80's. One song has leaked, "Crazy Love". Anyone know anything about this?

hmmm sounds very late-80s...with a New Jack swing sound.

perhaps this was a 1989 project that was never released?

"Calling all cars, Calling all cars". The drums remind me of Babyface for some reason.

it's a new one on me but has a similar vibe / production values to the album johnson produced for kool skool.

i'd have dug it at the time (on a friday night at the wag club on wardour st) however it sounds quite dated now.

That track came from me. Well, obviously it came from jesse, but I bought about 12 reel to reel master tapes from someone who claimed to have gotten them in a music trunk from jesse years ago. The tapes were masters from jesse - which included songs he produced for Vanity, Keith Cohen and a few others.

This was the only unreleased jesse song, and it was labeled "Crazy Love" as the song, and "Real Life Mode" was listed as the album.

There were a couple of others -"she i can't resist" (which featured two other versions not on any of the singles) and "better way" (which included a longer guitar instrumental.

Thank you so much for sharing! The stuff that you have that Jesse produced for others... is that unreleased stuff too? or just the master reels of songs like "Undress" which he did for Vanity? Also, would you be able to send me your audio rip of "Crazy Love"? Thanks!

Much as i would have thought Jesse and New Jack would have been

a bad marriage, this one isn't to bad for the early 90's period.

Heard there was a album Jesse was producing for Vanity and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis was producing too. She would've taken off like a jet but then she had that accident when her kidneys collasped.

Would love to hear the unreleased music he worked on for her as well as whatever he was going to put out.
