I was listening to Mazarati earlier, The Family, Vanity 6, & Apollonia 6 albums and if you listen to Brenda Bennett background vocals on Wet Dream, & 3x2=6, that woman sounds like a choir all by herself. A Million Miles is a incredible lyrically, musically, & vocally song. Love her vocals on it and just how deep and low she takes it.

I'm looking forward to hearing her solo music when it is released in July and hopefully since I do run in the ATL music circle, I hope to see her play and possibly meet her, since she have relocated here.

The video is from the planned/unreleased 'video album', which surfaced widely a few years back now. There's also an alt. video for Sex Shooter and videos for Ooh She She Wa Wa and Blue Limosine.

Happy Birthday Mr. Christian is one of my all-time fav. P tracks, IIRC it was the last track added to the album, so in that respect I'm glad the album went through so many changes and lost all those grade-A tracks, otherwise we might not have got this track smile

Yeah I prefer the synth funk of Happy Birthday Mr. Christian 10 times more than Manic Monday. So I'm glad they went through changes. I was listening to Manic Monday recently and Brenda's background vocals is still on The Bangels version as well as Prince's 17 Days. Would love to hear her version. I did think the Apollonia 6 album should've had at least another 2 songs on it with Apples or Susan leading cause Susan only had Ooo She She Wa Wa on that record.

hmmm I've always believed that these were the four singles from Vanity 6:

"He's So Dull"

"Nasty Girl"

"Drive Me Wild"

"Bite The Beat"

it's possible that "3x2=6" appeared on the B-side of one of those singles.

I have all four singles from Vanity 6.

"He's So Dull" b/w "Make-Up" [cat. no. 29955-7]

"Nasty Girl" b/w "Drive Me Wild" [cat. no. 29908-7]

"Drive Me Wild" b/w "3 x 2 = 6" [cat. no. 29696-7]

"Bite The Beat" b/w "3 x 2 = 6" [cat. no. 29763-7]

Enjoy. biggrin

it's amazing that Warners released a whopping four singles from their album. They clearly had alot of confidence in that project.

So Drive me wild and Bite the beat both had 3x2=6 as their b side, that seems a little strange. I think they should have released Wet Dream as a single. I really hope the Vanity 6 and Apollonia 6 albums are re-issued on CD sometime soon.

I agree,"Wet Dream" sounds like it would have been a perfect single. It's fun and catchy.I just wonder if radio stations would have shied away from it because of its suggestive title wink

I'm sure that's what it was, the name of the song might've made some radio programmers eyebrows go on top of thier foreheads.......LOL..........Too bad in those days, artist really was'nt recording two versions, one on the album, then one for radio like hip hop artist does today to change certain words that contain profanity or controversial lyrics, but then again " I need 7 inches more made it to radio, could'nt be more straight up than that . Maybe they could've called the song Night Dream !

LOL...it's interesting to think that, nowadays,a song like "If A Girl Answers (Don't Hang Up)" could easily be a single. They would just "clean up" the offensive parts and create a PG-rated radio edit.
