No. Purple Rain was a dramatic film. Nothing in it should be considered humorous or funny in any regard. You should never watch Purple Rain again, and if you do - take a film buff with you to point out the subtle yet effective nuances throughout. Morris' laugh at a metaphor against Reaganomics of the times, and the Cold War's ill-advised effect against America.

Love this first one, that scene. Morris knew he was dead wrong for that mess, trying to show out for his band. "How's the family?" Ugh. Such nastiness.

Morris made that film for me. lol

However, if you check that last time he and the Time talk about Prince and the Revolution, he actually had a moment of "why did I say that?" I don't know what that was all about. But that was about the time Prince and 'em performed "Purple Rain".

Morris was funny, but without Jerome, it wouldn't have worked.

Totally agree, Morris on his own was cool, but in partnership with Jerome, it was a perfect match. They totally made the film for me. The scene with the password cracks me up everytime.

Who ever put this comment up knows nothing about this ICONIC movie PURPLE RAIN which I have seen more than 100 times. 2 break it down 2 the lames out there , it had everything movies lack nowadays...of course it had GR8 music yet it offered so much more. Drama, seXXX, gr8 storyline and of course the comedy . Morris Day was the Comical side of PR. U had Prince who was this weird mysterious character quiet yet talented just his music and his band and his bike trying 2 get the drawz of sexxxy Apps. Morris on the other hand was the comedy from the 1st time u see him getting dressed and ready 2 rip the stage at 1st Ave, 2 the chick get'n body slammed n2 the dumpster....I'm sorry but that was hella funny.Yes everytime Morris was in a scene he killed it his Pimpish atttitude along with Jerome, hell the 2 of them could have made some flicks on their own. The movie was comical as well as dramatical and we needed that n the film 2 balance it out. So here is 2 all who watched PR at least 3 times ......May u live 2 c the Dawn . PS no BS even Stevie Wonder could C the humor in Purple Rain. Ok what's the password...u got it ....so it's the password...the password is what ...it, u just said so...tha password isnt it, the pasword is what...I got it? Get it right ....What!! Classic shit.

My favorite Morris Day scene in "Purple Rain" was when The Kid showed up to The Taste to see Apollonia Six perform and The Kid and Morris lock eyes. The way Morris was eyeballing The Kid, knowing that The Kid was either going to confront Morris or take Apollonia against her will to get her out of Morris' control. Hilarious! Every time I see that scene, I crackup!

I messed up on a few words in my comment 1 I meant 2 break it down 2 the lames not dwon my fault, 2nd I said gett'n dreeses it was suppose 2 be "From the time he was gett'n dressed" . I also want 2 say we all have an opinion and if my man saw no Comedy in PR then it's all good Mr.Ernestwell, u r entitled 2 that opinion .....We can all agree that it's a CLASSIC.

That was classic. But the whole password thing was the best. Even my grandmother loved that part of the movie.

Purple Rain was the longest ass music video ever made. Morris owned the film. Honestly....everybody remembers Morris' lines...we only remember Prince's music and how he finger fucked Apples.

Morris and Jeromy made Purple rain, without their humour it's just movie about Prince's very enormous ego and his ride.
