RECOGNITION 2 SEXY, FLY, FOXIE, AMAZING VOCALIST, ROSIE GAINES YALL!<3

HELLO EVERYONE!

Just wanted to start by saying I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Ok so this topic needs to have respondents because this woman is astonishing.

First of all...Rosie Gaines has had a huge influence on the career of Prince Rogers Nelson.

She of course helped write and produce the album Diamond And Pearls and first appeared as a member of NPG on the album Graffiti Bridge!

I love her!! Her voice is amazing and her solo music often gets overlooked. The
"Nothing Compares 2 U" duette between she and Prince is AMAZING!!

It is like one of my favorite shower songs!! 4 realll!

so yea I took a look at her website and if you are interested you all should as wwell. It is important to not just know the Purple One but to also know where his music comes from. Rosie Gaines, Sheila E., Larry Graham, Macceo Parker, George Clinton, Morris Day..etc have all had an immense influence on Prince and again hhave helped shape who he is as an artist!They all deserve some credit!

AND I LOOOOOVVVEEE PRINCE!! ok im done.

love Rosie's voice, so powerful, warm, emotional. She was a great addition to the NPG - both on record and in concert !! I have 1 of her solo albums too - it's cool !

However - a huge influence on Prince's career ???? errr, NO !!!
neither have Sheila E or Morris Day. Prince has been a huge influence in their careers!!! They are all part of the Prince story/family, sure !!!

I think we also need to put into perspective/quantify the degree to which Rosie helped write and produce the Diamonds & Pearls album. Essentially, I understand that Rosie was mainly used for background and co-lead vocals and perhaps studio/recording keyboard help when Prince required (i.e. to save time if he was busy playing another instrument).

Great singer, talented musician and songwriter - totally - but let's keep the purple perspective real !

I think she made him listen to Bob Marley for a while...no ?
