I can't thank Wendy & Lisa (and Renata!) enough for their time and their generosity. When we started putting this interview project together, I really only expected the ladies to throw together a few answers via email, for the sake of something fun and maybe a little exciting for the fans. I had no idea they'd run with the idea and make it SO fun and SO exciting for all of us.

Big big BIG kudos to the ladies for looking out for the fans and giving us all something so memorable and utterly enjoyable.

Show Wendy & Lisa some love and BUY THEIR ALBUM if you haven't already! It's seriously good stuff, even if they weren't the sweetest sweethearts ever to land on Sweetheart Island (which they are!). love

Lisa should tell Wendy though to let her finish her sentences, she interrupted her a few times and now I don't know what Lisa was going to tell about her being in her bedroom and everybody in the swimmingpool lol

Thank you girls!

I assume the other livestream send answers will also be available on youtube?????

really great to see them so at peace and talking so openly, they both look like great women - let alone the talent between them! fantastic job on all sides, both here at the org and the 3 of them there! this sort of thing certainly isnt offered everyday and i/we are grateful...

i am hoping as mentioned one other time above that the next part will offer some juicy bits lol prince is such a 'closed' man...some insight into what working with him was like and silly pointless but very interesting things like, what are his favorite things to eat, how grouchy or not is he, is he really as funny as people have said that he is, what is their favorite memory of the time spent with him and lastly, what did they learn from him thats NOT ABOUT MUSIC that they will remember forever.... those type questions would be what i would call 'juicy'

overall, this was a fantastic interview, really comfortable and at home with their thoughts - LOVED IT! thank you again heart

OMFG! Hahaaaa! Let's say... we all get married??? LOL! See??? They are just fucking awesome!!!

This whole media blitz for White Flags has just been such a joy to see, not to mention how great listening to the album is. But this interview??? The two of them just chilling on the couch with Renata asking orger's questions? Brilliant. Funny, informative, touching, insightful.

Thanks to everyone who made this happen. I hope I can catch the ustream live.

I've never really been a Wendy & Lisa follower, but this was cool. It was nice of them to take the time to do this for the O-R-G. smile Thanks, Wendy and Lisa!

My favorite part was when Lisa said to keep sharing the unreleased music they had worked on (but didn't own the masters to). lol Can you imagine if Prince said that?! HA.

i actually dug out my copy of the trevor horn album (i can't call it 'friendly fire' anymore!) and gave it a listen this morning. now that they mention it, that album kind of IS a delicious mess.

This was fantastic! Thanks so much. I can't believe they gave a shout to Jerry Goldsmith's Poltergeist soundtrack. It's one of my faves. And here I thought I was the only freak that owned this sweet and creepy soundtrack.

I love the Waterfall story about lounging out by the pool in Palm Springs after being fired from the Revolution. Palms Springs is where I go to lick my wounds too..

If I ever meet them I want to share my story of the day back in 1986 when I got home to find a plastic wrapped copy of the Rolling Stone issue with them on the cover. That day is so vivid in my mind for many reasons. I was 10 or 11 years old. I remember standing on my skateboard by the mail box just in awe, unwrapping the plastic and quickly flipping to the main cover story, my back pack still on, reading the story in a complete mental block unaware of the drama that was unfolding on the driveway of our suburban tract home back in El Paso, Texas. (My father, unawares, selling cocaine (apparently a big amount) to an undercover cop and within seconds, black unmarked sedans, flying in and arresting the old man. After my stepmother, in complete hysterics, explained what had just happened I ran up to my room and listen to ATWID for hours. Listening to "Pop Life," at least ten times, especially the "what you putting in your noise" part, not really grasping the gravity of the situation beyond the shame that my dad was in jail.)

Wow. Weird. Sorry for the tangent. Back to the thread. I can't wait to see them live at the Largo in Los Angeles, this coming Saturday.

Loved the interview. The ladies were, straightforward, informative, and really entertaining. If I had a critique it would be that there was a lot of inside baseball that a lot of the casual fans couldn't understand. A couple of more "simple" questions would have been cool as well. All in all, excellent job! I particularly enjoyed their take on what's hot in the scoring world.

It's seriously good stuff, even if they weren't the sweetest sweethearts ever to land on Sweetheart Island (which they are!). love

Wow, excellent way to do an interview. And specifically for the O-R-G. That's too sweet.

So, how come they know Madartiste? How did that happen? biggrin

Which orgers had their questions answered? Show of hands!

And finally, when they're talking about Mountains, Do U Lie (part 3), Wendy hums a melody, supposedly of Mountains. She actually sings "Anotherlover", now doesn't she? Emphasis on the last tone, that's that weird C7 chord that preludes the verses. Anyone else noticed this? I loved that last question and how Lisa shakes her head at "did Prince know what he was doing technically". lol

You're right! It is the very last part of mountains. Good call.

I'm more familiar with 'Anotherlover', I guess that's why I thought of that song. But the melody is for Mountains, she's actually dead on. Good memory after 23 years...

I'm more familiar with 'Anotherlover', I guess that's why I thought of that song. But the melody is for Mountains, she's actually dead on. Good memory after 23 years...

lol Good memory....I listen to it every day not to mention that particular part is whne the camera is put ON Lisa in the video I have it memorized thumbs up!

Sorry to say it, but I agree. Heroes is still seen as a current, vital show and probably will be for a long time. Prince would struggle to match that sort of connection with the worldwide public these days.

When you think about it, last time Prince connected on a worldwide scale like that, it was because he appeared on the Batman soundtrack. How ironic! And even then, who actually noticed any of his music in the film?! But at least he was attached to something major - a Warner-released summer blockbuster movie that broke box office records.

As I said, sad, but very true...

Nope, I saw it. But that proves my point: most people in England didn't see it. You gotta remember guys, the Superbowl isn't a big deal over here. So whilst it may have been a major coup in terms of reaching big audience, I guarantee you a lot of British general public don't even know he did it.

Hence my point: Heroes is an American show, and is HUGE over here.

OK, maybe we're getting crossed wires here: all I was suggesting was that W&L are PART OF something massively popular and current (ie. a major worldwide hit show like Heroes).

I'm not suggesting that's the reason people tune in, but Prince hasn't been connected to anything (since the late 80's) that has been popular on a worldwide, crossover scale. For example, there's even a W&L feature on the Heroes DVD bonus features. And that's one hell of a popular DVD, amongst Prince fans, W&L fans, and people who have no interest in either. But they're there, talking about music to a mass audience. I bet there's been more copies of that DVD sold than Lotusflow3r CD's.

Now, please don't hurt me!! lol

Nah, I didn;'t mean that. Prince will always be Prince in my book, and I'll take his music any day over W&L - I don't even own a single thing thing they've done without Prince. my take in this whole squabble is that prince has obviously left the bigger imprint in the big picture, but in the here and now, wendy & lisa are doing a heck of a lot more than prince. right now is a great time to be a W&L fan but just kind of an okay time to be a prince fan. but in the big picture, it goes without saying that prince will be seen as the bigger iconic figure. shrug

Well my take is- give props where props are due. We can discuss whether W&L had influence on Princes work back in the day or not - we never agree cause we weren't there and we all seem to hear differently...lol. But it's pretty messed up when people go and say one person has done more than another without at LEAST checking around a bit. They also won an ASCAP award which ain't chicken feed. I'd rather have a career where I don't have to worry about how old I get or if I can still dance to make my living. I think W&L have had the smartest career track of anyone out of that camp. Partially cause I work in the industry and see what happens when the pop market gets tired of you. Not pretty.
