Susannah Melvoin of The Family, Ta Mara of Ta Mara & the Seen, Mike Scott & Chance Howard will join MidAmerica Talent’s - 3rd Annual Prince Family Reunion, a musical reunion of current and former members of Prince’s various bands. The show will take place on Friday, June 5th, 2009 at The Cabooze, 917 Cedar Avenue on the West Bank in Minneapolis. Doors will open at 8:00 PM and the music will begin at 9:30 PM.

Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door. Advance tickets are available at The Cabooze Box Office, The Joint, Know Name Records, Treehouse Records and online at www.cabooze.com. A limited number of $50.00 VIP tickets are available online only at www.cabooze.com. The very special evening will feature performances by original members of Prince & the Revolution, Prince’s New Power Generation, The Time, The Family, Madhouse, Mint Condition, Jesse Johnson Revue, The Truth and Dr. Mambo’s Combo including St. Paul (The Time The Family, The Truth), Michael Bland (Prince, Soul Asylum), Eric Leeds (Prince, The Family, Madhouse, The Truth) , Susannah Melvoin (Prince, The Family), Dr. Fink (Prince & the Revolution), Dez Dickerson (Prince), Ta Mara (Prince, Ta Mara & the Seen), Bobby Z (Prince & the Revolution), Jellybean Johnson (The Time, The Family, The Truth), Chance Howard (Prince, The Truth), Stokley (Prince, Mint Condition), Mike Scott (Prince, Justin Timberlake), Kirk Johnson (Prince, The Truth), O’Dell (Mint Condition, The Truth), Kip Blackshire (Prince), Donnie La Marca (Prince, The Truth), Jerry Hubbard (The Time, Jesse Johnson Revue, Ta Mara & the Seen, The Truth), Brian Gallagher (Prince), G Sharp (Prince, Dr. Mambo’s Combo), Tyka Nelson (Prince), Pepe Willie (Prince, 94 East), Alexander Nevermind and several VERY special surprise guests!

Wish I could go. I saw Mazarati back in the day and they jammed.

This sounds good, but I'm a little suspcious of a couple of those folks listed as having worked with Prince: Donnie LaMarca? G Sharp ? When and where did that happen? I've never heard of either one of them.

Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

don't get your hopes up. they tried to hype it last year like prince "might" be there, but of course it didn't happen.

and you know what? they didn't NEED him there. it was an excellent show with or without dude actually being there in person. the whole night was worth it to me just to a) hear eric leeds play his sax all night; b) have a chance to hear "modernaire" live; and c) hear the man himself, dr. matt fink, tear it up on the keyboard solo for "head". just for those three things alone, i was more than satisfied with last year's show.
