I wanted to add that I think Liv has a gorgeous voice and i really enjoyed listening to the preview songs from her album on my space. I look forward to seeing her sing live with Prince!

So, how am I cutting her down? Her vocals are unremarkable to me. I did not say that they were bad or terrible. They are mediocore to me. Nothing about them jumps out and grabs me. I have heard voices like hers countless times in the current musical landscape. I never said that she could not use her voice. She is using it. She put it out there, and an artist has to accept that once her work is shared with the public, the public has a right to critique it.

Why you feel compelled to misinterpret or read things into my comments is beyond me. However, I am sick of seeing your posts on every thread where Bria's name is mentioned whenever someone voices disinterest or displeasure with the music they have heard from her. There is no hidden agenda on my part to cut her down. I love good music - plain and simple. I critique music from all kinds of artists in various genres. Some stuff I dig, some stuff I do not. There is nothing personal about it beyond my taste in music, i.e. what moves me and what does not.

I do think the tracks are a waste, but that is my opinion. It is not mean spirited, it is just an honest opinion. Over the years, I have seen Prince waste countless tracks on mediocre and/or talentless proteges from Vanity Six, Apollonia Six, Carmen Elektra, Mayte, T.C. Ellis, Tony M. and others. I concede that it is his music so he can do whatever he wants with it. However, I still have a right to my opinion. So as I said, with regard to the Bria tracks, I would probably enjoy the songs with a better vocalist singing them. As it stands now, I would much rather listen to the instrumentals. That said, I wish Bria and anyone else who chases their dreams success. I have no ill will toward her, I don't even know her! Regardless of my opinion, I do not have to buy her album for her to be successful, especially since you'll probably buy 1,000 copies.
