The Bria Album isnt coming out...

Tamar anyone?

I liked the Tamar album, but it was sort of a by-the-numbers affair.
Its one of those albums that relies on the strength of the production and of the singer's voice--none of which was stellar. Not great, but not bad enough to lambaste. It might have even sold a few hundred thousand copies with the appropriate amount of promotion.

The album never came out...

Set to be Támar's debut album, Milk & Honey was originally to be titled Beautiful, Loved and Blessed, but was later renamed after one of the other tracks. The album appeared to feature significant input by Prince: many of the song titles employed his style of abbreviations. Milk & Honey was originally set to be released on May 5, 2006, but was delayed for unrevealed reasons. Several other rumored release dates came and went and the album was eventually canceled except Japan area (and then canceled in Japan after all), even though a few promotional singles had been issued.


Prince has had several proteges....most of their albums never see the light of day

Unless you have some sort of source, I think you're thread title is a little misleading. You could at least put a "?" on the end of it.

But yeah, I think it's in the back of everyone's mind that there's a possibility that this won't see the light of day. It kind of goes with the territory of being a Prince fan that one should never count the eggs before they hatch (or in this case, until the CD is in your hands!)

Yeah, I don't expect this Bria album to come out at all. Prince has a very predictable pattern of writing bad music for his protege and then mismanaging it once it's recorded.

If you want a successful music career, don't go to Mr. Nelson.

What's the PURPOSE of NOT RELEASING stuff? Why record it then?

If he does offer downloads on an official site of some sort, it's possible. I doubt there will be an official hard copy of it released, though.
Prince may get distribution through a major retailer, but I doubt they would want to distribute a complete unknown.

Ya'll funny. I think Bria got a nice voice, Im looking forward to hearin Bria's music too. Her look aint white by any stretch Mrgee. It aint about all that.
