I met Mayte and I liked her, she was very sweet. Being P's wife she could have been a real diva, but there was nothing like that about her at all.

Also she faced and withstood the pressure of being with someone that famous, which is a battlefield all of its own. It cannot have been easy for her.

I heard that Cat got booted out because she became to big for her boots and started bossing P's employees about. But this was hearsay that came my way and could be completely false, planted by someone jealous maybe.

I din't like her initially cuz I blamed her for CAT gettin the boot but I grew to like her and think she was the real deal cuz he wrote so many songs for and about her and mentioned in some interview, can't remember specifics, that they shared all these eerie similarities and knew each other in a past life or some shit. He was reaching of course, but I think he really loved her or at least loved the idea of her. Trippin thing is that she was the only 1 of his women to pop out a kid. He doesn't strike me as the type to just randomly knock up chicks - so he believed she was the real deal at the time.

there have been 3 fan celebrations 4 an entire week at paisley park, the first being in 2000. prince was behind the dj booth showing off videos and there was one where it was a photo collage of mayte and he just stopped what he was doing and focused on the screen just looking at her.

u can't blame mayte 4 cat being replaced since prince never met mayte until 1990 during the nude tour, by then prince had replaced cat with the game boyz

I think Mayte and Prince were the real deal at first. I do believe he was committed to her at first also. Then later on in the marriage I think the whole thing became a bit phony and forced on Prince's part

prince wrote songs for many of his women and i dont know personaly but if you readthe book the rise and fall of prince she was there just for show so that wouldn't be any speculations they were getting a divorce but in 98 he was already dating mani ananda lewis and some other chic..... yeah and about cat she didn't get booted she left but prince did want her to stick around

at first, i didn't think mayte was anywhere near good enough for prince and his tons of talent
but after i got to know her, i found her to be the sweetest person
