A play!?!? Tyler Perry ain't nothing to sneeze at, but I KNOW she can do better than that. Her new cd is dropping next year, shouldn't she be touring or promoting that?

Talk about clueless. I am not a fan of Mr. Perry's plays but they rack in the money and there is a good chance he could make the play into a movie.

for tyler perry. the only people i see in his plays are people who are on their way down the fame ladder or people who know they have little chance of climbing it.

Meaning exposure for Tamar. I never said she would be the next Beyonce.

Got my tix for the show. "After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill...the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill...you stay in wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes."

I actually prefer Tamar's voice to Shelby's, especially when singing with Prince . Her voice may not be as powerful but her voice is sweeter and blended better with Prince's voice IMO because she never oversang him as Shelby does sometimes. I always thought the main reason so many people resented Tamar was because Prince gave her top billing. He didn't do that with Shelby so she didn't get the same criticism. wow, i agree...but tamar also lacked fashion sense. Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I wish they would have included New York on the schedule. Probably later. If it comes to New York City, I am definitely going to the show. Babynoz, although I love the way Tamar and Shelby sings as they both have their own unique styles, I have to agree with you that Tamar's voice blended well with Prince's when they sang together, especially on the tracks "Love" and "Incense and Candles" on the 3121 album. [Edited 1/8/08 17:48pm] Yep, seen both of 'em live and while I dig Shelby's powerful voice she has a tendency to over sing Prince like on the song Chelsea Rodgers. Rosie Gaines had a powerful voice as well but she was better at adapting her voice to Prince and his material. Same with Tamar. Incense and Candles is a great example even though it doesn't get much love around here. Her vocals enhanced the songs on 3121 without distracting. I think Tamar is worthy of support and touring with Tyler Perry is good exposure for her...I hope you get to see them in New York eventually. "After this, there is no turning back. True, their Prince and Tamar's voices blended well together. Anyway, since you'll be seeing the play before me, I'll be happy to hear your reviews on it and hope Tyler brings the play to NY. Tamar has been in numerous plays, as well as being nominated for a NAACP image award in 2004 for best performance in a play. She played Tammy Terrel in a play about the life of Marvin Gaye, which really set her career in motion. That is big in the Black Community, She doesnt need the Prince Community support any longer, never really did...

That was cold, man! Hahahahaha...Actually Perry has been quite the svengali lately. His last play was made into a hit movie and rumor has it, he'll star in the latest installment of Star Trek. So Tamar could do much worse..I wish her the best...she seems like a sweet woman with a beautiful bottom...

Tamar is just getting started, with a voice like that and her personality it's just a matter of time... just cause she's not working directly with Prince doesn't mean she's done.. take off the violet shades [Edited 1/16/08 6:24am] Retired Since Nov 2008
