Be interesting to hear that story. Thanks for all the work you and the staff put in to make this one of the BADDEST radio stations around! To MJ: "You Rock My World, You Know You Did. . ."

or perhaps it had nothing to do with Tyka, maybe the concern was the type of questions the station would throw at her and put her in a position to answer or dodge, but he should know by now Emanicaption Radio has always been supportive and respectful. Who knows, i'm speculating. It was an awesome interview, I've been waiting all week for this and much respect to DJ Jill and Tyka for making it happen.

My favorite part is when she talks about walking down the alley and hearing all the bands rehearsing. She's around my age so I could relate to that because real music was all around in those days. Also the part about trying to do something on your own without interference...meddlesome people can be annoying even when they mean well. "After this, there is no turning back. I loved that part too! Then its all so bittersweet how times have changed. [Edited 10/21/07 14:30pm]

I loved the interview. She was really cool and insightful 2 her past.It seemed like the song Reflection by Prince shouldve been playing in the backgroud. And Wonder,I didnt even think of that, thats totally true...but DJ Jill is definitely not like that and was a great host,DJ,and interviewer.

Very true, when she said that, it reminded me of my neighborhood in Queens, NY growing up listening to all the live bands rehearsing during the week/weekends. Some very famous musicians/artists are from either the same block or a couple of blocks from where I lived in Queens, NY like Nile Rodgers, Lucy Martin (one of the original singers from Chic) Marcus Miller, JT Lewis and then some. I like Tyka's songs "Joy" as you should never allow anyone to steal your joy and "Rock and Roll" which seems to reference the choices and paths you choose in life and I definitely like "Won't Cost A Penny"<--now that's some foot stomping, head shaking and hand clapping, waving the right hand up in the air gospel..that's the jam right there, the bass line will get you moving....so I purchased her songs. So far, the four songs she has for sale sound good. It was a good interview, very respectable. [Edited 10/21/07 22:19pm] Education, the greatest weapon

I need to thank each and everyone of you for supporting Emancipation Radio & Tyka Nelson. We had a lovely time and enjoyed all the positive mesages we got. It will re-broadcast Wednesday evening at 7pm central for those who missed the original broadcast. Once again, thanks family. Cool. "Joy" and "Won't Cost A Penny" and "Rock and Roll" are pretty nice tracks. "Won't Cost a Penny" is definitely my favorite out of the 3. It has that foot-stomping/hand-clapping/waving the fan and right hand in the air chu'ch sound...true blues/gospel Mavis Staples sound....you know what I mean.. So far, Joy is my favorite, I'm looking forward to the cd. "After this, there is no turning back.
