I don't know when I'll return...goodbye.

And on the 15th October 2016, with his 10,000th post, Squirrelmeat changed his name to something unpronounceable. No longer would he trawl the new influx of idolization and grief threads, created by the new spooky electric fams, but instead he will go looking for the ladder. Let the squirrel album fly!

Thank you to the wonderful mods who are always underappreciated, org efriends too many to mention over the 15 years, those on PPML & AMP and in person at the 250 Prince gigs around the world over the years. I know I’ll still see some of you in the flesh.

I’ll still have an account, in fact, I think I’m going to check in with another account, but I might cut loose and fam you out. I’m sorry, I’ll be good, this time I promise. Now I understand. I have to go now. I don’t know when I’ll return…. Goodbye.

In the meantime, 10,000 posts, 250 gigs; I’ll settle for new access to 2,000 unheards…it’s beautiful...Peace ya’ll.

Yeah, I know. It's not what it used to be, but Prince fandom isn't what it used to be. A lot of old time orgers have disappeared, which is a real shame. I won't leave, because who knows, there might be news about upcoming releases from "the Estate" or a new bootleg leak. And to check GD every Friday for a laugh. biggrin

Dear squirrel meat
I wish you could rethink that decision. Yeah I know I'm a newbie and should keep my mouth shut but I'm trying to learn everything I can about Prince and his life and music and having ORG members like you leave ends that.
I can't understand what your loss is like; I just wish people like you who were smart enough to stay with P when he was alive would be willing to share your knowledge with those of us who were dumb enuf to miss it.

Oh yeah and I'm getting old (60 soon) and the chances to learn are diminishing. Everyone who leaves the ORG diminishes its greatness; would be lovely if you could stay and share your experience and knowledge.
I believe that P was the greatest musical/artistic genius in my lifetime
and I would happily learn what I can from others cause there's not much information online. I want to learn more than tmz can say ....pleeeease!!!

It really is a shame to hear this - though I understand your sentiment exactly. The Org is not the same, nor do I suspect it ever will be. I never thought I'd say it but I miss some of the negativity - all of the stuff that was said because we all knew that Prince could do better than some of the things he did and the joy when those moments of genius shone through.

To share a memory - when Prince played HnR2 at Birmingham, I remember you posting each song on the Org from your seat as it happened. I will always remember your reaction when Electric Intercourse was played - Priceless!

Though I didn't know you personally, I can honestly say that your knowledge and your wit will be missed - I hope you rethink your decision, or at least let everyone know that it's you underneath the camaflauge of your new username.

^Oh yeah, I totally understand what you mean. The times folks were bitching about Prince playing too many hits or doing the sampler set! confused You don't realize what you've got until it's gone, right? sad

Yeah but.....real music for real musicians......that's why we bitched.....right? I still think Prince was better than the sampler set. You're right though - oh to see the sampler set just one last time - I'd do anything - even if I did hate it smile

I agree. Most of them are on social media. I even spotted a few who used to be members on here.

And also the org need to add ignorelist in its member features to bypass trollish posters. It is hard to ignore them when they happened to be on the same thread.

You know, somebody might seem to be a troll on one thread and might have something sensible to sayon another.

To many around here, troll = "people who disagree with me."
