Change the rules of the org.

Hey Guys.

I was reading another thread on here before about how we ae running out of things to share and that we are rehasing things. I couldnt agree more, so maybe the rules should be changed. Maybe we should be allowed to start sharing bootlegs on here and even give links to sites. The more bootlegs and links people share, the more people will have to talk about and keep the incredible legacy of Prince alive. Maybe we could be allowed to do this until the estate starts brining out new stuff for us to talk about.

Site discussions. Since we're all about the rules and all.

Think about the future...

The rules should remain as they are. When the estate is finally settled and the Vault is emptied upon our miserable greedy souls, this site will still be the center of the Prince galaxy. As it was, is and by abiding the rules, always will be.

True, the site is a bit windows3.1, but it is managed very well by the mods given the circumstances, imho.

And the gossip will die out in a couple of months. Everything will be back to normal, as far as normal goes here, on the org.

If bootlegs were allowed could you imagine the music and topics we could actually discuss especially if people finally start to share stuff that is not in circulation yet amongst other bootleg sites

It's a very nihilistic point of view to think there'll never be anything new to talk about. Tyka has said they'll release music. A judge has ordered the estate to start monetizing it so create a cash flow. There are lawyers in place to handle things, and a trust. And there is nothing else to talk about??? It's bratty to say "allow us to share bootlegs until the estate releases something." What did you do between album releases when Prince was still around? Between 2001 and 2004 - what exactly did you do?

Hell, there's endless threads on "did he know he was going to die?" and "I smell a cover up" that will last the less-than-logical types until 2018, at least.

There is still someone in charge of his estate, and that person (or people) still have the same interest at hand that Prince did - to be sure that the music gets out, and that someone pays for it (ie: you and me).

"eye don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r."

There are plenty of sites that talk about boots. Go there for that. There's a great site called Google that will even help you find them.

In the meantime, there is a correct forum for this kind of wishful thinking.

And there's no way Ben would ever allow this (at least not at this time) as it would put the site in jeopardy. Until we know what the new rules are with the estate (if the stance on bootlegs have changed -- highly doubtful) -- nothing else in the Prince universe will change.

Meaning if you're going to be a jackass like EverythingBrittany and upload all of Prince's official releases on your site -- the web sheriff is going to shut that shit down (again). Not just submit a DMCA takedown notice for the Prince stuff -- but take down the site entirely as it has in the past.

If folks used the Google search bar in the upper right hand corner of every single page on this website, then their duplicate/absurd/troll threads wouldn't get locked/moved/etc.

It really is that simple.

There can't be only two people on this site that think we don't need one hundred threads about the estate. One hundred threads pontificating if Prince knew he was going to die.

Stickies are there for a reason. The mods know that if they make something a sticky, the chance of another thread discussing the same fucking thing won't be posted. They know if they don't make it a sticky, there will be 100 threads about the estate. There will be 100 threads about some prison inmate claiming to be Prince's son.

Folks don't use the custom search bar that only searches Prince.org. They don't use Ctrl+F to find keywords on a page. They don't check the stickies. They get a Google alert like the other 20 users that repeatedly post duplicate posts and think that they're the only one that signed up for google alerts on Prince and post without looking.

My only suggestion for a change to this website would be have a forum where only the music is discussed. Not "Prince: Music and More" -- just "Prince: Music". Then you could have a forum so folks can go in and ramble about suicide notes, mediums, and other absurd shit like how they deserve to know everything about Prince's life and death because he was a celebrity. The folks that report duplicate posts, etc would stop reporting because they would never visit the "Absurdities" forum.

Not that it would change anything. You still get people who post about Damaris Lewis many, many times in the "Prince: Music and More" forum when it should be posted in "Associated Artists and People".

Folks just don't care. I imagine them getting on a freeway on-ramp as if they are the only car on the road. Just merging into traffic without any turn signal. 100MPH driving right over the solid white line... Yeah, this sums up these folks....

Will.Not.Happen

And you know........... it's amazing the org has been around for so long........

Would you pay the legal bills if the org got sued? or if Websheriff sued you too? You have $$$$??? Yeah........ I thought so.

The rules are in place for a reason. The Founder created those rules that are in place and because of those rules the org has been around for as long as it has.
