What makes something a "Hot Thread"?

Seriously, what are the parameters to decide what constitutes a "hot thread"?

Because this one: http://prince.org/_3eAEAA contains a mere FOUR posts, one of which was by Mars23 who announced he was CLOSING the thread.

Hmm, that definitely does seem wrong -- only 4 posts is NOT supposed to be 'hot'. Let me investigate.

OK so two things can make a thread hot for the purpose of twitter.
1: lots of replies
2: lots, lots of views

Obviously, this is flawed -- because #2 really shouldn't be enough to make it hot; so now I've changed it such that there must be a minimum number of replies, even in case #2. That should keep this from happening again.
