Film Screening: Rain the Color of Blue with a Little Red in It (Winston-Salem, NC)

In celebration of the worldwide influence of Prince, the Museum of Anthropology at Wake Forest University will hold a free screening of "Akounak Tedalat Taha Tazougha," translated as “Rain the Color of Blue with a Little Red in It,” on Monday, April 22 at 7pm.

Inspired by Purple Rain, but produced in a culture that has no word for purple, the film is the first ever in the Tuareg language of Tamashek. The movie is set in the Saharan country of Niger, among desert nomads. Popular guitarist Mdou Moctar appears in the lead role, playing traditional Tuareg music infused with rock and funk elements.

I'm thinking about having some kind of purple people gathering before the film, so org note me if you're interested!
