It was great! Weird at first, but great.

The first couple hours the music was mostly off while Spike used the crowd as background extras to film a bunch of scenes for his Netflix series, She's Gotta Have It. We sang, waved signs, had to be quiet for other scenes while they filmed dialog. It was very cool to watch, even if it did go on for a bit too long.

By two the crowd poured in, by three it was as packed as I've ever seen it. Last year as a goof people started doing the electric slide to 1999. (Spike came out on stage, hands on hips, and said, "well I've never seen *that* dance to *that* song before.") The DJ must've remembered, because he played I think 4 songs on a row with the right beat.

Damaris Lewis was there, and Doug E. Fresh (I think) though I didn't see either. I left kind of early anyway. It was hoooot on that plaza. toaster sun sun sun
