Justin Timberlake is such a talentless prick. It is a disgrace that he is being allowed to perform at Paisley.

Disliking JT for personal reasons is one thing, but TALENTLESS? I'm not sure you will find many people with MORE TALENT. He can sing, he can dance, and he can act. I believe that is the "holy trinity" in entertainment. He also appears VERY comfortable in a live setting / in front of HUGE crowds and he seems up to the challenge of being "type cast". (He appears to have mostly lost that "boy band singer" stigma). And no, I'm not his publicist and not a really big fan. It's just that the talent is OBVIOUS.

As far as the "listening session", this could be GREAT for PP. What if this is the first step in PP becoming a "go to" place for the entertainment A-listers (outside of LA)? I think it would be great for Biebs and Katy Perry and Taylor Swift and the like to start throwing "listening parties" at PP. More exposure for PP and Prince.

He can hold a tune, I don't think many people would rate him as a particularly gifted vocalist.

He's an okay dancer and a mediocre actor. Just because someone does all these things, it doesn't mean they're actually particularly talented at any of them.

^ ^ Yeah, I wouldn't say he was especially talented. Good marketing team though.

If he were dancing behind MJ/Madonna I would say wow that guy is good so if you could be a back up dancer for the likes of those you could say he is a good dancer
Not mediocre.

I agree with MattyJam. I don't like that Justin has been allowed to hold his listening party at Paisley Park. Would Prince have approved of this? I seriously doubt it. Justin does not belong at PP.

He's an okay dancer and a mediocre actor. Just because someone does all these things, it doesn't mean they're actually particularly talented at any of them.

I've seen the dude do a good job in a handful of pretty good movies. He's been in at least a dozen.

Gifted vocalist? I never called him that, but he can sing pretty well live when you put the mike up to his mouth, no computer needed.

OK dancer? Compared to who? He does the same choreographed dancing that 95% of the entertainers have done for the last 15 years, but he looks pretty natural at doing it. He doesn't look stiff or uncomfortable, and he certainly doesn't mind being the lead guy.

So again I say he CAN sing, he CAN dance, and he CAN act (FYI - he is cast in both dramas and comedies, so casting agents/producers obviously feel he has acting range). And you're right, SOMEONE can do all of those things, but not be particularly talented at any of them. Justin Timberlake isn't one of those people.

It's a good idea to hold the listening party there. I'm sure a lot of people on here will take issue with the fact that Justin Timberlake is even setting foot inside Paisley Park though. Personally, I'm not a JT fan but he's got some really good songs and if I lived in America I'd like to attend.

First off where the hell have I been LOL I’ve had some school and unemployment issues I was dealing with so I haven’t been here in a while but I thought I’d swing back through with Justin is doing a listening party at Paisley Park and put in my two cents. I’m equally a fan of both of them like even though I’m probably too old for posters, my walls in my room is covered with Prince and Justin equally.
I was indifferent at first but I’m OK with it now it was just kind of weird..which is why I was a little hesitant to say OK but it’s not the worst idea. And like most people said he has openly talked about being a fan that’s that’s not a secret. I think that in my honest opinion is usually those really intense fans who are like anybody who looks at Prince wrong is an asshole. I guess since a shade was thrown back-and-forth ( that Prince did initiate I’m just saying) means that they don’t like Justin.
Anyway Honestly the only thing that went through my mind was whether or not they will let him serve meat there (as he has a food and drink menu for his listening party I don’t recall if there is meat on it though) I think that would be disrespectful to to bring meat to Paisley Park the staff can’t even bring a ham sandwiches and I was a little annoyed about the liquor license but I mean what can I do about it right?
he’s one of those people were you either love me or you don’t and like I said I think it’s all of those really intense fans and I really really have an issue with acknowledging that he is not really that bad of a person. People are taking the joke he made about accepting the award and “making fun” of his height and taking it to heart but that was a joke. I mean I’m 5’2” if I got mad at everybody who made fun of my height I wouldn’t be talking anybody basically. I always said prince threw shade and he took shade so I feel like if he wasn’t getting upset and losing sleep over it I don’t know why everybody else is but whatever. 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️💜

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think Prince and JT were friends or even a casual acquaintance, much less collaborative artists.

.

Furthermore, I don't think Prince was an admirer of JT's music. They are/were from opposite sides of the spectrum, if you ask me.

.

I really have nothing against JT. I don't love him, nor do I dislike him, but to use Super Bowl Weekend and PP as a means to promote his new album just has opportunist written all over it. Can he get any more attention-seeking than this??!! My God, this is really getting pathetic. Even worse, it makes PP look so desperate and money-grubbing. rolleyes

.

Keep on exploiting Prince; yeah, I'm sure he really appreciates it. mad rolleyes

It IS attention seeking on Justin Timberlake's behalf. That's what you're supposed to do when you're promoting an album though so he's doing nothing wrong.

I really don't understand why some people are so against this. Everyone involved is coming out of this a winner. Justin Timberlake will get a lot of press out of it and he gets to showcase his new album at the home of an artist who inspired him to make music. Paisley Park earns some much needed cash and attention of its own and even Prince will benefit from renewed interest in his work from young Timberlake fans getting curious about the artists who inspired him.

I must be missing your point because I genuinely don't see how Justin Timberlake previewing his album at Paisley Park is a bad thing. I've already outlined some of the good that can come from it but what's the reasoning behind saying it's a bad thing?

As far as other comments on this thread go, it seems that the only reasons people aren't happy with it is based on a dislike of Justin Timberlake, either due to his music or him making fun of Prince. But you said you didn't dislike him so I'm assuming you have another reason.

Sheila E said in her book that Prince would just say out of the blue lets play baseball and have a picnic/bbq, so i am not sure when he gave up meat, but i am assuming the pre 90's era BBQ's

were happening at PP or somewhere he was in attendance. i think that would be an awesome pic

You've got that part right! Like seriously, WTF? mad

It could be much much worse. Just be thankful it's not Justin Bieber. If you consider that Justin Timberlake is a big Prince fan, he must get a big kick out of holding an event at Paisley Park. Could any one of us claim not to want to perform there? As a Prince fan, it's a dream come true. I've never understood the contempt for Timberlake from some people on here. Not liking his music is one thing but some of the things I've read on here are borderline racist and there's no need for it.

He's Disrepected And Thrown Shade At Prince Countless Times Even Did It In A Song That's Y People Aren't Very Pleased
