If y'all got to be a Prince purist then you ought to quit swearing right now because Prince didn't like that either... Oh and since he was a very spiritual man, perhaps you could endorse some of that 'forgiveness' too...

The Billboard article kinda blows Sheila's story out of the water, she made it sound like she talked to Justin and got the hologram stopped, when in fact there was never going to be hologram.

Peeps need to stop taking her word as gospel. She and Prince made beautiful music together but they stopped speaking a few years prior to his death so she knew Prince but not what was going on the last years. All her talk about him now abour his issues and thoughts I do not take much from due to that rift. Those who really were in Prince's spehere then have been silent.

.

This hologram stuff exposed more than how people disrespect the dead.

1. To consider Justin Timberlake's tribute to Prince a condemnable 'sin' and declare him a 'fool' is a little bit pretentious and debatable

2. Whether Justin is more of a sinner than anyone else on this planet is not for us to decide. God alone knows the hearts of men. He will judge each and every one of us in due time I'm sure...

'then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive and act and render to each according to all his ways, whose heart You know, for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men'

As for 'Forgive the sinner, not the sin' do you have an actual bible quote that says this? If you 'forgive', why not do so and just move on?

I am not getting why it is about Justin. It is not. I am simple. I just am saying, sure people will do covers of Prince songs and that is expected but be mindful of Prince as a man. That is all. Justin as a human being will have to and is living with whatever decisions he made. He is no saint and publicly put negativity into the universe. That he will live with- we all have choices and he made his. This is however is about an Icon who transitioned. How he is image is being used when he clearly said NO to using his voice for duets with anyone - how this became about Justin being sinner or saint . . . boggles.

.

Just do not use Prince's voice for duets with anyone. Simple. Do all the covers you want ON YOUR OWN talent- sing it yourself.

This is factual.

I have heard a first-hand account from someone who worked on the Purple Rain tour who was fired because he made an ill-judged comment about Prince's height, and Prince flew into a rage and had him fired.

There is absolutely no way that he thought was Justin did was amusing in any way. It was disrespectful as fuck.

Filthy is one of my least favourite songs on the album and is not indicative of the type of music which features throughout. Bad choice for a lead single, I think. Montana would have been the better choice.

I haven't heard Montana yet. But I think many of artist would love 45,883,889 people looking at their stuff for only about 6 weeks! razz biggrin

I read several articles about the Hologram fiasco, and I really don't know what to think. It does not appear they are being truthful. The fact that Justin or the SB are not disputing the allegations of a planned hologram, makes them look very suspicious, imo.

.

http://www.vulture.com/20...ogram.html

.

https://www.billboard.com...projection

.

If you believe “Page Six,” the hologram was very real, and scrapped at the eleventh hour. “He was 100 percent ready to use the hologram but nixed it due to backlash from social media and Prince fans. That’s why he had that sheet up like in your mama’s backyard,” an insider told the gossip site. If you instead believe “a source close to Timberlake,” also quoted by “Page Six,” the hologram never existed: “There’s no way Justin would ever disrespect Prince’s legacy. He didn’t change his performance.” Since TMZ abandoned their original report, that leaves only “Page Six” still standing by the rumor.

.

Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson tells TMZ that she and the rest of her siblings, who are heirs to Prince’s fortune, knew Justin planned to sing “I Would Die 4 U,” but that the projection was a surprise — one that she approves of. She makes no mention of the hologram. In a statement to “Page Six,” Prince’s estate, which is overseen by a bank, said it gave Timberlake permission to license the clips used in his performance, calling it a “beautiful hometown tribute.” The estate’s statement does not acknowledge the rumored hologram either. A Twitter account said to represent one of Prince’s half-brothers, Omarr Baker, tweeted that the family did not authorize use of a hologram and that there were never any plans to include one in the performance. Meanwhile, Alki David, the founder of Hologram USA (famous for its Tupac hologram), says his company had nothing to do with a Prince hologram for the Super Bowl.

One day people will feel remorseful and looking back they'll regret not having appreciated JT whilst he was still around and they'll suddenly start praising how good his music actually is and what a nice guy he truly was... They will start wishing they'd seen him perform live more or at least once (while they could) and any attempt to pay homage to the 'Sexy Back' majesty will be deemed unworthy.

I will not feel bad for anyone who blatantly makes fun of another person's physical attributes. You cannot change your height. It reminds me of bullies. I am not being argumentative but JT is getting dragged now for good reason. This will not be forgotten. It is his karma.

Sometimes I am 100% an accelerationist on this issue, I want 20 holograms all doing Prince tours all over the world, nonstop listening parties at paisley park, toothpastes and stickers and endless new remixes and duets of prince's work with new artists because I want people to realise that all that "respectful" handling of his legacy is nonsense; the man was about living in the present not about reverence of the past. No posthumous release will be ok, ever, so we may as well just get the absolute worst of it all out until we collectively cop on.

But I realise i'm in a minority here lol

Aside from what JT did at the Golden Globes, he also dissed Prince about "Sexy Back". And the tribute at the SB was the icing on the cake -- it was his final jab at Prince.
