i liked Justin Timberlake's superbowl performance/tribute. he has an awesome voice and kept it going. the tribute was fine, not too over done and it looked beautiful. made me miss Prince for sure, but he's gone and Mr. Timberlake is a huge fan. i don't knw his music very well but i'm planning to check it out more. that man can sing!

I am content that Justin did this respectfully.

Even Morris Day was pleased.

Exactly. Questlove gave it a thumbs up. PRNFamily gave it a thumbs up on Twitter & Instagram, as did Tyka on her Instagram. Brownmark was at the Orpheum for the live Tonight Show airing. The only people who seem to have a wet diaper are the "fans". Buncha babies.

And Alan Leeds gave the thumps up on it too.

co-sign nod imo jt's a lot disrespectful to mock Prine' height (in 2007) and then flaunt an egotistical, arrogant and transparent on stage disregard, all in the name of his insensitive narcissism. also i find it a wee bit suspect that youtube had no video of Justin accepting the golden globe award for Prince who was stuck in traffic. The video can be seen in the 2007 daily.uk article i posted (post #346) a few post ago. [Edited 2/5/18 16:02pm]

It took some digging but I found it again.

true. however Prince was a man of class and I truly doubt that he would sardonically and frivilously rob the award moment if Justin timberlake were the recipient.
mocking someone's physicality is wrong in everyway.

i hear you re: "sense of humor."
however one might less philosophical if they were a male person with a height of 5'3".
heck my female friend is 4'10". sometimes when people make humorous comments about her height. she laughs, smiles or just acts like she doesn't hear the comments. it annoys her at best.
one might surmise Prince dif not have a sense of humor about his stature.

Justin just made a quick light-heart joke to fill in the awkward waiting blank. He was slightly under pressure and that's probably the first thing that came to mind (maybe it was the thought of the penguins in Happy Feet). Prince very often joked about people's physical appearances and shapes... It's called humour. 'Wooden leg' anyone?

And what about this:

It's dedicated 2 my first wife

Prince was allowed as JT is allowed. Prince did not go around trying to pimp others for his own hype. He did not drudge anyone up from the dead for his own purpose. Prince was so talented and gifted he did not need to do that.

.

BTW Justin is being dragged by the nationa media for what he did for the Super Bowl. I am convinced Prince even fromthe dead you don't mess with Prince.

I am guessing you are referring to the Japanese style flip-flops he was wearing whilst travelling. I believe this style of flip-flops have always been high and were probably more of a fashion statement at the time... It is starting to look like it is the fans who are having more of an issue with Prince's height than he himself did. Maybe when he was younger that might have been an issue for him, but later he seemed comfortable with himself and even didn't mind standing alongside very tall women onstage, like Damaris for example. I am sure Prince wouldn't have made such a fuss about Justin's careless joke - such a detail in the grand scheme of things.

Ugh. The Golden Globes height debacle and the lyrics from his song "Give It To Me", which were direct digs at Prince, make his sudden "love and respect" for the late genius seem disingenuous. I already can't stand him (for obvious reasons lol). but when I found out he was holding a party at Paisley, I was REALLY done.

He frequently pointed out his own shortness in interviews and songs, especially during live performances. The high heels and stuff was a fashion thing, not a self conscious thing. Tom Cruise wears hidden lifts in his shoes to make him appear taller because he is actually self conscious about it. Prince wore glittery heels to draw attention to the fact that he was wearing heels. See the difference??

I wish people would stop projecting their own insecurities onto Prince. He was a short man and he knew it. You'll never see him try to hide that fact. So I doubt Justin Timberlake lowering a microphone is going to upset him. Even if JT did it out of pure malice rather than the joke it was intended to be, I don't think Prince would give a shit. And why would he?

I actually will stop because I have better things to do with my time than wait for you to provide an intelligent counter point and it's clear that your issues with Justin Timberlake go well beyond him mocking Prince.

I feel really sorry for you in a way because I get that you like Prince and your heart is probably in the right place but there's something not right with you. You shouldn't get offended on someone else's behalf. And I genuinely mean it when I say I have nothing personal against you and that I hope you're OK because you definitely give off the impression that you have some deep seated issues.

Regardless, this will be the last you'll hear from me on the matter. Good luck.

He's been swaggajackin' MJ forever, he swaggajacked Prince by using the Beautiful Ones drums in that one song of his (after the diss), he swaggajacked Robin Thicke a few years ago when he straightened his hair and started wearing suits and tuxes, and now he's swaggjackin' Gaga and Bey with his "woke", "I found myself" country-fied persona. And his personality grates. He just carries himself with a hubris that is not endearing in the least. And, although I didn't watch his SB performance, I read that he opened with Rock Your Body when he could have opened with any other song from his repertoire. It was like a dig.

Right right, so Justin has got a few seconds to fill in and he thinks, " I know, Ill take the piss out of his height, that'll have em rolling in the aisles." You made an extremely lame arguement for Justins arrogant posturing at that award show. Try better.

Btw, Is ole Cloreen a real person? No.your comparison is so off.
