Oh and I wanna add: Funny that no one really bashed Bruno Mars dressing up as Prince during his tribute at the Grammys. How was that okay? He literally copied Prince from head to toe, but he gets credit and love from the people. JT didn't really copy Prince. Why are there doublestandards? I find Bruno's "tribute" more disrespectful and cringe worthy.

Oh I didn't appreciate that neither and said so.

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

And his tribute to Prince obviously a heart felt homage to his musical hero

Lord some of Princes fans are insufferable... just miserable

A giant bed sheet and Justin doing his best karaoke to the tune of I Would Die 4 U. You cant make it up..

The best part was of course the tribute in lights and Princes symbol lighting up Minneapolis.

Justin has been dragged for days, he deserves it after he mocked Princes height at that awards show. The internet never forgets..

With the exception of all the purple, that was the worst Super Bowl performance in recent memory. That thrown together "tribute" was wacked but I'm sure that's because Justin had something else planned but oh well. And out of all the song selections available, using "I Would Die For You" was tacky as fuck and just another of his lil' bitch type moves.

Yeah I thought it was pretty mediocre. And not because it didn’t make some grand political statement or do something outrageous. I didn’t think the sound or choreography was that great. And if JT can really play instruments I wish we would have seen more of that than him dad dancing on stage.

He pretended to play piano like at one of those fairground pianos where the keys play themselves. It was a nice touch, i enjoyed that bit.

I loved JT’s performance. The small Prince tribute displaying Prince on a sheet was a bit odd but really ok. I think JT looked forward to his session at PP.

.

I know; it didn't look like much thought was put into it. The performance was low-key.

yeahthat Justin duet with Prince hmph!

Next thing we will have other doing the same. I feel this marks a true end of an era. Prince will now be a caricature of the curly haired 20 something forever, his music used to prop other artists and sell products like baby diapers, toothpaste, fast food restaurants and maybe even beer etc.

Prince publicly spoke about some things but he is not on earth anymore so it does not matter.

People will pay tribute as they see it and forget about the man they are paying honor.

.

I am not talking about the purple at the end - it was wonderful his town did that- I am talking the use of his music used to prop another musician - I get it. It is just sad that this is what will be for Prince for now on when this is the very thing he said he was not fond of-just sorry for Prince for the disregard of who he was as artist and a man.

.

I don't think that will happen because they have to go through Prince's Estate first. I don't think you're gonna see Prince on cereal boxes or pancake mix boxes. That would be hideous.

.

I think for the most part, his associate artists are honoring him in a respectful manner.

.

I think JT did "okay". Nothing spectacular. It could have been better, considering it was Prince's Hometown; but maybe JT felt he would be criticized for being too "over the top"?

.

Prince fans are not easily satisfied. lol

I have to say, the sound was really shitty in the beginning -- the band was great, but sound quality was f-up. After a few minutes, it sounded better.

Nah no cereral boxes yet. I would like to see the estate focus on music, getting Prince book out, and putting out the last projects he was working on. If they stick with the music I think they will be fine. He has so much of it there is no reason to turn him into Uncle Ben.

You are not alone as I share your disappointment. But I knew from the start whatever he did or didn’t do people would be angry with it. And apparently everybody knows Prince so everybody knows that he would like it or would like it in it’s ridiculous really. We didn’t know prince even if we think we knew him we didn’t know him, it just breaks my heart. People wanted to so badly hate this thing that they actually asked for that they’re willing to call the tribute something it’s not(hologram) so they can continue being angry about nothing. It’s just really sad because you can’t really mourn, process and find peace when people are so negative all the time. I thought I would come here And be anyone fans who weren’t negative like those on Twitter or Facebook but it’s no better. So I’ll learn to grieve in my own way, if this is what a “family” is supposed to be like I don’t want it. And furthermore for everybody who thinks they know Prince this behavior shouldn’t even exist because it’s not what he stood for he did speak on that as well
I completely agree with both of you. People are just looking for a reason to be mad. It was a good tribute and the thought that counts. You're in Minneapolis, it's really thoughtful to honor Prince, and the way he did it was tasteful. It wasn't over the top and it was Prince singing his own song, which I appreciated the most. And to hear everyone say "Prince wouldn't have like this" It's like we don't know what Prince would like. We all want to protect his legacy but don't be negative all the time. It was thoughtful and Justin did his best to honor him the best way he could. You just can't please everyone and someone will always find a reason to not like something. It was a thoughtful tribute. Lighting up Prince's hometown with his symbol was very nice and it warmed my heart, almost brought tears to my eyes. I completely felt the love seeing his symbol light up across my tv and across his city.

AMEN AND RIGHT ON!!!! cool biggrin yeahthat clapping

Video karaoke and Prince on a giant bed sheet. Justin deserves to be dragged for this. I guess the hologram being pulled in the 11th hour was to blame for the hastily put together "duet" cool

co-sign nod
imo jt's a lot disrespectful to mock Prine' height (in 2007) and then flaunt an egotistical, arrogant and transparent on stage disregard, all in the name of his insensitive narcissism.
also
i find it a wee bit suspect that youtube had no video of Justin accepting the golden globe award for Prince who was stuck in traffic. The video can be seen in the 2007 daily.uk article i posted (post #346) a few post ago.

Exactly. Questlove gave it a thumbs up. PRNFamily gave it a thumbs up on Twitter & Instagram, as did Tyka on her Instagram. Brownmark was at the Orpheum for the live Tonight Show airing. The only people who seem to have a wet diaper are the "fans". Buncha babies.

Probably the same ones freaking out about alcohol being served at PP. Of course Mike Scott confirmed it was only served in the soundstage area and nothing was spilled anywhere.
