Controversy surrounding the PP tour?

Let me start with, if this is the wrong forum for this discussion please let me know and I will repost. I went on the Paisley Park tour last weekend, twice. On my second go around there was a gentleman who seemed to know a lot about a lot. For instance, while in the Sign O' the Times room he had stated that the drums and guitar were actually replicas and not authentic. While in Prince's office he seemed to look quite upset and said "this isn't right" and was referencing "Josh's pictures" another woman came up behind him and stated "there's a lot of controversy in this room". Now, I don't know if this dude knows something or if he's just being a negative Nancy but one thin did stand out to me in the office. There was a pet carrier in the corner. I asked the tour guide about it and even she said Prince hadn't owned pets in years. Anyone have any info on this?

Side note: I purchased the tour book and was looking through he discography section, they completely left out LotusFlower/MnplSound

I went through a VIP tour in April... and I found his office the most INTERESTING. The look/furniture and the literature, most of all. I wish I'd spent more time in there.

On a related note, I found the tribute fence that was up outside the most touching. My girlfriend stood to the side while I walked up and down it a few times and asked me later, "U got emotional there, right?" I had. Seeing the worldwide tributes... the art... the memorabilia.. the grief. So many of the emotions those of us who loved him have felt... but the thing that caught me off guard was the overwhelming feeling of LOVE that I felt there. From and 4 Prince. Still gives me goose bumps when I think about it.

I took the PP VIP tour 6/8. I have no idea how that fellow could call the stuff replicas. You should have asked him who he was and why he thought stuff wasn't right.

Hey Musze - did they have the tribute fence section inside when you were there? They have it inside now, right at the end, in the same place where the Super Bowl performance airs (just before you walk into the gift shop from inside PP). It's so touching. The staff said they rotate the items on the fence periodically, in order to showcase as much different stuff from fans as possible. It was amazing.

It was outside when we went. They had part of the ORIGINAL tribute fence from last April in the spot U mentioned.

I've wondered where the peach drum kit was used. I asked too, but those tour guides don't know too much. The SOTT/Lovesexy tour drum kit was light blue/green. In that Omnibus special, Sheila is being interviewed sitting at a yellow drum kit. I don't recall seeing the peach or yellow one used anywhere. Maybe just for recording.

what about the doves? i have heard it referred to as a cat carrier, but seems like doves could fit in it too. their cage is nice, but i could see prince taking them on field trips, at least to fly around inside "the egg"? cool

I believe the pet carrier has been there for years because he had several cats, I think it's because he just never wanted to remove the carrier after the cats passed.

in M1's book she mentions noticing the cat carrier in the corner of his office. so it has been

there awhile, perhaps it was sentimental.

Seems odd he'd be emotional about a pet carrier. And I'm just going to leave that there.

The People of Paisley Park facebook group has a posting with a little more info on the history of Prince's cats...there's a story about Paisley the cat, and another one of Prince fostering another cat for a while in 2006...he may have used the pet carrier to transfer that cat, or the carrier may be even older and date back to the mid- 90's when Prince and Mayte had Isis the cat, and Mia and Hena the dogs...

Here's a link to the story of Prince feeding the stray cat that he saw wandering around his garage from the security video footage...
