Fans wanting to move to Chanhassen

I'm seeing fans on Facebook who are bound and determined to move to Chanhassen (or Minneapolis). I don't get it and I live in Chan. I could maybe understand if Prince was still here and you're such a die hard fan that you need to be that close to him. But with him no longer here I think it's crazy! I guess I could never see uprooting myself and moving to a city just because a favorite artist of mine happened to live there. And I certainly couldn't see myself doing it if that artist was no longer alive. 🤔

Possibly they want to work at Paisley Park? Or maybe they just really love the area? Unhappy with their current lives most likely. I completely enjoy myself everytime I visit, feels very comfortable. I think I'll stay home and just take a flight a couple of times a year though wink

I guess they're just massively obsessed fans. But with him not being here I'm not sure I see the point. There's only so many times you can tour PP, First Ave etc. Eventually you've seen all the Prince sites and then what?

I'm from and currently live in Texas. Chanhassen is a very nice city. It looks so polished! lol I talked to many people while I was in Minneapolis and the majority of them moved there for a "fresh start". If I had the money I think I would move to downtown Minneapolis. It looks 1000x cleaner than downtown Dallas, trust me.

I bet you're right! I noticed such a difference in the air, so I googled it. Minneapolis is ranked #4 in cleanest cities worldwide & #1 in healthiest city in America.

Yeah, but it is cold as hell, too. Thus, you will find more street people in Dallas than Minnie. razz lol

Minneapolis is a great place to be. this area is still pretty unspoiled and there are lakes and trees and wildlife. the arts scene here is vibrant; today is the May Festival in Powderhorn Park, https://www.bloomingtonmn...-Festival, where they march the giant paper mache figures of the Sun down to Powderhorm Lake, while blowing trumpets to proclaim the coming of the Sun. there are juglers, Morris dancers, balloon sellers, food, souvenirs and a really fun time. Minneapolis is very multi-cultural, and Chanhassen is south of the city by half hour drive, in a lakes and rolling hills area, more upscale laid-back neighborhood. i don't think it's terribly surprising that people visit Paisley Park, see how charming this place is, and fall in love with the scene.

I absolutely love the twin cities area. However I wouldn't move there just for Prince even if he was still alive. I would move here for a better life, job prospects etc.

Exactly. But these people I see on Facebook want to move here only because of Prince which I think is nuts especially considering he's no longer here.

Yeah that's a bit odd. If they felt such a connection to P why didn't they move there when he was alive. I can kinda grasp that. But now he's passed on, I don't see the point. Oh well each to their own.

It is nuts but people are following their heart and didn't know how much they loved him until he was gone. I want to live there in a way. I guess there is just more of a Prince atmosphere there. More Prince fans to hang out with. At some point though, we have to live our own lives and not live life through Prince. I would not move there because I would probably regret it, say around January

I asked Prince what he was planning to do. He told me , I'm going to look for the ladder. I asked him what that meant. All he said was, sometimes it snows in April. - book D.M.S.R.

I don't think it's crazy to want to move there. I would love to live there! I used to live in the midwest and I loved it so much. I went to Chanhassen a lot (Prince was alive then - saw him a few times) but I've missed the snow and the midwest ever since I came back to the south. I would like to live in Chanhassen now, especially if Paisley Park continues to be a museum. I would love being near so that whenever they have a viewing of any movie, concert footage, celebrations, whatever, that I could just pop on over. So I don't think it's so crazy.

i think it would be cool if more people who understand prince's vision lived near chanhassen and would help keep his vibe alive there. seems like it would help paisley park to have more regular visitors to the after dark parties and it might be cool to go on a tour led by an obsessed guide smile . if i lived nearby i'd probably go at least once a month, because i resonate with the ideals that paisley park represents and i think they are worth keeping alive there. i think i could adapt to the weather, and the north is romantic to me, but i guess enough things are going well where i am that i just stay where i am.
