Paisley Park April 21st - How many here are going?

In the lead up to the 1st anniversary I wonder how many orgers are heading out?. I cant face it yet personally speaking.

Not me. Too spendy (I have another trip this summer that I need to save for), plus it's just too big, with too many artists I have no interest in watching "pay tribute" to Prince.

I'm going to see the Revolution in Madison in May. That's more my speed, at the moment. And at some point, I'll get up to Minneapolis and take a tour without all the hoopla.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I will be driving up that morning from Chicago and attending the events of Friday and Saturday only.

It would cost me the price of a small house, so no.

Part of me would love to go, but I don't think I will. This is one of the very few times I have been available to do Paisley Park, but I really have the feeling this event is going to be too somber and/or too heavy for me to really have a good time. I don't think I will have a good time if people around me become visibly grief-stricken, and I can certainly see that happening.

I'm not doing the Celebration events but since I live only 2 miles away I will go when they open it up for people to leave stuff on the fence.

Not going, too expensive for Prince not being there and I never liked crowded events at Paisley. These performers should be able to play there throughout the year and not just the celebration.

I wish. sigh Can't afford it. Spent way too much last year around the whole official tribute hoopla. It's going to be very hard to be so close and not be a part of it. Seems like a good wknd to get out of town so it doesn't drive me crazy. As compensation of sorts I did get tickets to the Dakota to see St Paul Peterson and Eric Leeds on the 20th I believe it is. Would also like to go to Bunkers's and catch Jesse, but no definite plans yet. The PRN Family Dance Party will be great again I'm sure. I enjoyed that last October almost more than the big tribute concert. So much fun! Smaller, intimite venues are always a hit imo. The Revolution show at First Av was also a memorable experience I'm grateful for.

It's a hurtful place, the world, in and of itself. We don't need to add to it. We all need one another. ~ PRN

I live fairly close and this is what I'm planning to do also. I'd love to attend the Celebration events but it's just too much money for me, and like mentioned already by someone above there are too many "tribute" acts I don't care about. I do wish I could see the Revolution though. I'm hoping to maybe go to the family's dance party event, or at least go to a fan get-together of some kind if there are any of those arranged during this time and meet other Orgers.
