On a somewhat-related note...what do you do about cell phone service overseas?

(Yeah I could Google it but I'm here, ain't I?)

I won't have a phone, only wifi.

so what's app works for me, or FB messenger

One thing I would like to do at some point is the Anne Frank museum. A booking is required being that the place is TINY and only a handful of people can go through at a time.

Herman wants us to go to the Rijksmuseum - he must love it there, him and minneg were just there last weekeng razz

I think I went to the Van Gogh museum in 2010(?) when I was there last.

I'm the mistake you wanna make

I think the Jewish museum is more interesting than the Anne Frank museum, if you want to get informed about WWII.

Anne Frank museum means standing in line for a very long time, and then rushing trough it, because there's a huge line behind you. I would not recommend it.

A very overlooked museum by the big tourist hordes, but very worthwhile to visit (imo) are:

www.willetholthuysen.nl/ or www.museumvanloon.nl

Museum about Amsterdam that I like is: www.amsterdammuseum.nl/

Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh and Stedelijk are must sees, imo.

I would be a bad host if I would not get PJ to these museums cool

I don't have a cell phone. But I might get myself one for the Amsterdam invasion.

I'll look into cheap options for you.

If a Dutch orger is in the know about cell phones for one week use in Holland, I would be very thankful for some info.

thumbs up!

Someone at work suggested I get a cheap "disposable" phone out there...do you have those?
Here we can go into a convenience store and buy a phone for like $40 with a pre-paid card for minutes.

I will change my phone plan for the days I'm there to allow for a limited number of international texts. Beyond that, I will rely on free wifi to contact people via What'sApp, Viber or Skype.

Can you give more details on the Amsterdam invasion? Is it a public dance party or just fans gathering and talking? I would prefer to dance. Place and time would be nice too.

Seriously, I don't think I've ever actually had a Guinness. hmmm

Can I get Belgian beer on tap in Amsterdam? Benelux is practically one big country anyway, right? smile

I think we're all past this level of famdom, but if any Europeans at the invasion want a copy of the American magazine, Essence with the kooky Prince cover, I can bring a few copies. It's for sale everywhere here. http://prince.org/msg/7/407229

On the other hand, I found the Anne Frank museum very powerful and would highly recommend. I suppose it's cause I read the book as a child and it had a great impression on me. Worth the wait for me, especially since I didn't know if I'd ever find myself find in Holland again - it was a once in a lifetime experience.

I also recommend Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh. smile
