World Purple Rain Hour

Hi!

I just wanted to drop in to the forums and let you know about a fun thing we're organising for the mayan apocalypse:

Basically, we think the best thing to do when the world is ending is to have EVERYONE listen to Purple Rain all at once. It's going to happen at 12 midnight the 21st UTC time so that means:

Lake Minnetonka - 6pm December 20th
New York - 7pm December 20th
San Fran - 4pm December 20th
London - Midnight December 21st
Melbourne - 11am December 21st

So please, take part! Twitter while you're listening with the hashtag #purplerainhour. Tell your friends.

I made a playlist of all the performances of Purple Rain I have razz It starts with the Album version and the last two are the versions from Milan in 2010 and the version from The Revolution's reunion biggrin

The website says, "If the world doesn't end, maternity wards will be overflowing in nine months time." This is one of the last Prince songs I would put on if that's the goal. Why didn't they have an "Erotic City" hour? If the world's going to end I'd rather listen to that. lol

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Also, there's a lot to be said for that guitar solo.

I'll listen to 1999 before hand... seems fitting since it's the album before Purple Rain & deals with apocalypse time issues.

Well, if any babies were conceived during Purple Rain Hour, I bet it happened when people were playing Side A. smile
