365 Days of Prince in Louisville

Get ready to “Party like it’s 1999" at Revelry Boutique Gallery, 742 E Market St. in NuLu.

A new show titled "365 Days of Prince" by local artist Rebekah Major, pays tribute to Prince with over 365 illustrations flanking the gallery walls.

The exhibit began as a year-long online publication in which a new pen and ink illustration depicting the late musician Prince was published every day.

The project lasted 365 days during which Major illustrated Prince in a variety of forms — Prince as Hunter S. Thompson, Prince as Norman Rockwell, Prince as a pretzel, Prince at The Last Supper, and the list goes on.

"I started the Prince project to challenge myself!" said the artist. "I wanted to be committed to completing illustrations and hone my craft. I feel as though completing a small piece daily is a good regimen for myself. I hope my illustrations can bring smiles daily.”

To celebrate the new show, pop on over to Revelry in your "Little Red Corvette” Friday, July 7. The party runs from 7-10 p.m. — "Purple Rain" or shine.

As part of the festivities, DJ Alison Longmire will spin Prince inspired tunes. Rumor has it, Prince himself may be returning to “rain" on this party!
