calling org media player/music techies..

I need your expert advice, here's my situation:

.

so I'm 1 of those who's at least a year behind "the latest" technology, whatever there currently is.

I love my music - & all my playlists - & I endeavor to keep my favorite music portable, so I can take it with me whenever I'm out doing whatever..

.

I had the "iPod classic" - which was great because it had so much memory & I could store all my music & many of my favorite videos & play them when I wanted. eventually the iPod got corrupted & more than once I lost my iTunes library. very frustrating. I still have an iTunes account because I bought some shows for my children to watch on that and I also have 1 season of "curb your enthusiasm" on there too

.

I have a PC laptop (Lenovo) & JUST THIS MORNING, my Windows Media Player library was corrupted again.. & I lost all my awesome playlists there too. so I'm tired of Windows media player crapping out on me as well..

.

lastly, I have an LG smartphone which regularly loses songs & playlists. obviously I've stopped adding new music to this, as within the next few weeks I will upgrade my smartphone to ideally something better, something more stable that will keep my music on that device

.

my questions to the org media player/music techies are these:

.

1. I need to have 1 main, DEPENDABLE & RELIABLE music program, something I can keep ALL my music & playlists in - maybe in some type of "cloud" format"?

WHAT PROGRAM OR APP DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR THIS???

something that I can have/keep/maintain on my laptop &, ideally, can transfer or use on my smartphone..

I had "media monkey" for a while & I liked that in the sense that for my little dance parties & with albums like Prince's "parade" there were no gaps between the songs (you know how the 1st songs on that album all run together..)

.

2. in terms of my "portable music".. should I invest in something that is today's modern equivalent of the "iPod classic"..

or should I maintain my favorite portable music through through an app in my (soon-to-be-upgraded) smart phone???

if the latter - what is a good, reliable app in which I can store all my music & play either on my laptop OR on my smart phone??

.

I thank you in advance for your good counsel..!

I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

I can tell you what I do and what my son does. I'm old school--I still download music to my computer, burn it on CD, and to my Ipods. By the way, you can still buy great refurbished Ipods on Ebay that have new batteries, new hard drives or solid state hard drives. My son, on the other hand, saves music files on his computer and then puts them on his Cloud account and streams music on his Iphone. It really is up to you which options you go for. Best of luck. wink
