My 80s inspired track is up for download :) check it out

Hey guys, I haven't posted on here in a while. I've decided to put my track "They Call It December" up for download on the triple J site.
This track was inspired by 80s pop, a bit of a jimmy jam and terry Lewis influence and of course influenced by Prince smile
Feel free to share it, tell me your thoughts on it and how I can improve! Would love some feedback.
Thanks!

Hope the link works

Great effort, I love it!

I have to admit that I like the beginning of the song the best though, the middle part sounds like it is another (separate) song to me. One that I enjoy far less than the promising first minute and 18 seconds. At the end (when it breaks down) I get a Princey vibe and that's where things get pleasant again for me.

I think I would have preferred it if you would have built on that first 1.18 minutes of your track. I definately get a Jam & Lewis vibe here. Maybe you could put a bit more variation in the bassline, to make it a bit more lively. And add some more parts and/or vocals to the song. You could perhaps still end the song with that 'Princey' breakdown.

This is all just my personal and honest opinion of course. It definately was a fun and entertaining listen. cool

RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

Thanks for the feedback funkaholic! smile really appreciate it. Yeah I understand where your coming from. I also think it could've done better with a bit of vocals and tighter deeper bass. I might even go back and tweak it a bit haha. Thanks again.
