When i got to the state of Illinos i started getting some really strange feelings. I wasn't really sure what it was about, but something just didn't feel right. then a few of nights ago i recieved a picture text message to my phone of a burning cross and members of a pictular group. I didn't reconize the number and it sort of "freaked" me out a bit. So i called up The DownLoad Society and told them. They wanted me to be in a safe place while they looked into the matter, so they informed me to contact Jason Dodson a member of prince.org and The NewFunkOrder who was very close to where i was and he and his wife met up with me.

it turns out that the pic was sent to me from a friend back in NYC from a different phone thats why the number was not familiar to me. He had sent it to me to let me know that i should be extreamly careful because the territory that i was entering was known for this kind of activity. when i spoke with one of the locals i was told that i was "lucky" to have made it through that picticular county because it was know to be a very violent place, when it comes to that subject.

when i got to Lawerence i got really strange feelings. I met this girl who took me to this place that gave food to people and when i got there they wouldn't give any to me and the lady who worked there would even look at me. Don't get me wrong no one threaten me in any way but the feeling i got in the area was very strange. the whole time i was walking through that area i had feelings and thoughts that made me feel like i wasn't going to make it through. I had dreams while camping that people where standing over my camp site and at one point someone threw gasoline over my tent and set it on fire. when i woke up at about dawn i felt like i had been watched all night.

now again i say i was not threaten in anyway in this area. But i believe that when i recieved that photo it had a phycialogical effect on me and caused my thought patterns to change. I never had this feeling before hand on this journey and i am a strong believe you create your enviorment by what you think and what you say. so i guess you can say i became my own security issue. I had to decontaminate my brain. since i started this journey i have had dreams that came true within a matter of days of having them. i have had thoughts that came to pass with in hours of having them. so i had to get the negivativity out of my system. I know that my friend didn't mean any harm but it caused a short circut in my thought patterns and basicly fear set in.

i don't know if the way i am explain it make since to you but i am sure some of you understand. i am back on the journey and i will arrive in St. Louis tommorow sometime. Special thanks to The DownLoad Society and Jason & Kari Dodson for helping me remove the glitch and taking my mind off the road for a while.

I can not have fear set in otherwise i won't make it to my final destination.

I was really tired when i got here so i slept alot. Paluga wants me to take these these caffine pills to see what kind of an effect they have on me for a study he is doing. Its the first of fellow orgers i have met along the way and they are AMAZING. They took me out to this gay club and it was FUN. We danced to some prince music and watched a drag show. I have photos for you. It was good to get away from the road, you getting my mind off of the trip for a bit. I am glad to be back on the road though. I have to continue this journey if i want to complete it by Christmas.

I got a call from Uchenna today. she is Ofwater. some of you may remember her. it was really good to hear from her. She is also a big prince fan.

Nathaniel and i shot some video regarding the trip with a darker spin on it for the fun of it. when he and i get together u never know whats gonna come out of it. i would like to see a bit of St. Louis but i probably won't considering i will be leaving in the morning.

i can't wait to get to Arkansas and see my friends there. i am really missing being with my friends in NYC. The other night i had a dream where i was sleeping in my tent and i woke up and was really sad that my friends were nowhere near and then one of them came in my tent and said come outside and when i did all my friends where gathered around waiting for me to wake up. when i woke up from the dream i cried. i am lonely for my friends. I really miss them alot.

Its great that i get to meet all of these new people and all but the experience only last a few days at the most and then its futher on with the journey. I really miss being around the people who know me the most. I also miss being in love.

I also miss being up on Prince and what he is doing. the video above was like a love sign :O). I keep thinking he is gona show up along the way as some sort of surprise. Yeah i know... CRAZY, but u never know whats going to be around the corner.

anyways this is all i can think of right now of the top of my head... hope you enjoy the videos..

LOL This is so crazy. Crazy that I'm following your log - and envious. Regretful too because it makes me think of my road journies - that were never recorded (except in my imagination). Fun to be able to add new dimensions.

Colorful life Dreamthing I applaud and admire anyone that participates in life this much. The abstract of it is so unique and the process multi facted. New cities, people, situations, the unexpected, new understandings, new thoughts - new possibilities.

so i am just about to Rolla, Mo. i don't have that many new pics. I have had my camera in my back back most of the time because of the rain. i do have some video from St. Louis.



and this one.

This is Jay. W. I met him outside of the library in St. Louis. We got to talking about what it was like for him living there. He was a really nice guy, really intellegent and had a better vocabulary than i. He thought i was full of BS when i told him i was walking from NY to CA until i asked if i could video tape him for my documentry. Here it is... i wish it was more but i only had 3 minutes left on my memory card. I am going to have to back everything up and clean out the card. we spoke for about 2 hours, he is writing a book and a screen play and i show him a couple of ideas on how he can publish it himself.

This is Raymond. He and his mother own Bubba Tea and Cafe


i stopped off in there looking for an internet cafe, they didn't have what i was looking for but Raymond was really nice and let me use his personal computer. I had a bagel and his mother made me some home made soup on the house. It was probably the best soup i have had in a long time. They were super friendly and the place had a really nice vibe to it. Raymond went into the AirForce 3 days after high school and saved up his money so he could open up his Cafe. I really wanted to spend more time with him, but i didn't want to wear out my welcomet there. He was really cool and really friendly.

I just love some of the Art in St. Louis...

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed my time with Mr. DreamFirstBorn, Jew. He is a wonderful and kind spirit, and I hope he is able to come and visit again in the future. I want all fellow orgers reading this to offer your help to him if he is coming through your area.

On Wednesday, October 21st, he was walking from the Illinois/Indiana border through the Southwest Central part of Illinois, and I knew that the area he was walking in was very unfriendly to people of color in particular. There are still KKK rallies out in those parts of Illinois. Plus, this was an area that has some real spooky history. There were old reverse underground railroad slave houses in this area a long time ago- places where the slaves would think they were free, but then were captured and sent back by local white supremacists. There are still some pretty creepy folks in this area. So, I drove up to Olney where Jew stayed the evening, and picked him up. Olney is about 100 miles or so from where I live.

When he came down, we went to the local college town of Carbondale, Illinois. They have a gay friendly club there called Club Traz that my wife and I attend. The people at this club are so much nicer than the people at the straight clubs. Jew had the opportunity to see that there was actually a cultural nightlife in Southern Illinois, at least in this one town. Carbondale is traditionally a very liberal city. Senator Paul Simon (the bow-tie Senator) was from the Carbondale area. Southern Illinois University is located in this town of around 40,000. We had a chance to go to one of the local well-known Italian restaurants called Pagliai's.

Honestly, I'm surprised he got through Southern Indiana without any trouble. There are similar people all over Southern Indiana, and luckily, Jew encountered some of the good folks. Maybe the bad ones are the rare ones now- I pray this is the case.

It was a pleasure having Jew around. He and I share so many ideas in common. We worked on a couple of songs while he was here also, and I will put them up as soon as I get done mixing them.

today i am having a thanksgiving dinner with a group of people i met in springfield. they practice polyamory. Its a very interesting concept and i am eager to learn more about it. My host has talked about it with CNN. and i have the link here..

my hosts are Mark and Shelly. I met them yesterday. I made it to about 20 miles just outside of Springfield and Mark wanted to come and get me to save me from having to camp out one more night before reaching Springfield. Thank God because my leggs were killing me. I walked about 40 miles the day before and wanted to do the same yesterday. It wasn't going to happen and i did about 25 miles. So Mark comes out and got me.

funny thing is just before he gets there i get pulled over by the police. it was the first time since i had been on the journey. I was expecting it to happen yesterday because i was walking along Interstate 44 towards Springfield because there were no state routes that went directly there. to be honest it was a straight away road and i said "fuck it" i am going to do it because it was going to save me about 20-30 extra miles of walking distance according to google maps. I figured the worst that was going to happen was a ticket or at worst maybe a night in jail, which would have been fine because there were no campgrounds in my direction and i had no more money for the week for a motel room. The crazy thing is the police pulled me over on a side road. He said he saw me and just wanted to know what was going on. I was talking to myself having fun with my camera... i was bored extreamly and just needed to entertain my self. u'll see.

this stretch of Missouri wasn't very exciting for me, there was nothing but rolling hills and rain and walking on the interstate didn't leave me with much chance of conversation.

i am glad that Mark did come and get me because i was concerned about being out in the open on Holloween. My imagination runs wild and you would not believe what i had congered up in my mind.... what might i encoutner during the night. Headless horse men, spooks and gouls, witches and warlocks, zombies and vampires and of the satanic rituals, plus it was full moon. we all know the freaks come at night. lol. i am starting to think that the only fear i have is the fear of my own imagination. is that a good thing or not?

So last night Mark and Shelly intoduce me to there girlfriend and boyfriend. They didn't tell me this right away, i just though that they were close friends coming to checkout the dude passing by. We all sat for dinner and they asked me every question you could imagine and i answered them as honestly as possible. i am finding much easier to do so. then it kinda slip about there relationships, because i told them that i was gonna write about them here on the org. and shelly and sheri said as long as there are no pictures and video.. and i though hmmmmm. what does that mean.. then shelly said well we have an interesting story.. and in that instance in my mind flashed different things i had pickup on but didn't pay much attention. Like they way Mark and Sheri were sitting next to each on the couch and how Shelly and Jonathon looke into each others eyes when talking to each other. so my first thought when she said interesting story was ... they were swingers... lol. but i wasn't gonna say so outloud and Mark was like what do u think we are, or something like that... i told him let me write down on a piece of paper and then when you tell me i will see if was correct. Mark knew already what was thinking and said it outloud. I was wrong but close and thats when i was introduced to polyamorgy.

he has left Springfield, mo and is now in route to Arkansas. He plans to reach his destination in a few days and from there will head onto Oklahoma and then Texas. He upload these short clips before he left and posted some photos on his facebook page...

we are trying to get him to do more clips of people he meets along the way. He says that these clips are just small pieces to show of his walk and where he is. but to look for more about people along the way. he is running out of space on his memory card and is looking to get a bigger card soon. He says he doesn't want to delete anything yet. I tell him he is being a pack rat and to let some of it go and give us something more. what do u think?

since leaving Springfield i started south down to branson, mo. it was striaght road with curves, hillsides along the hills and tree after tree the trees started to undress for me. i thought that very bold considering how cold it was.
it was hot and there were only 2 service stations along the way at least 8 miles apart. i thought i could make it without a refill. it didn't work out that way. i got thirsty. With my mouth all dry and the sun cooking down on my skin. My hand started to swell up. my feet were fine and felt more numb rather than aching. which gave me more distance. the first rest stop was this shell station. the first thing this guy asked me is if i were affraid to die with all tthe killings in the news. i thought naaa man are you going to give me a ride. but i didn't ask him. he wanted to preach to me. i left that station heading south with a cup of coffee in my hand, on foot.

i have some cool videos coming up.
