Live Funk and Old School DJ: A party

I finally got a club to buy into my idea of mixing my band with a DJ for a once-a-month Friday Night Partay. Basically, I play a set, DJ plays a set, then I play a set, then the DJ finishes the night and your mom goes home happy.

It's in late January - gonna feature only my funky stuff and my favorite 70's/80's funk stuff - Dazz, Prince, Jackson 5, and more. I kind of envision the magic happening like this - we play a set, the last song is a cover and the DJ picks up the ending of the song with the real thing mixed and bam we're done.

Oh MAN I can't wait.

But I need a name for the night. Give me ideas. The best I can come up with 5 minutes thought is Purple Stank - but that only hints at the Prince tip, it doesn't talk about the awesomeness of my own band.

Phat Butts. No idea. It's still 6 weeks away. I should get it together I suppose. Played an acoustic thing tonight that turned out very very interesting (the afterparty). It's good to be me right now.
