Okay, I'm making final plans for next week's gig. I'm doing research for the stage appearance.

I'm looking into the P-Funk look. Screw looking hip, screw looking like a rock star. I'm buying a big white wig, a bigass floppy hat, a leather vest, some flared jeans that I'm rolling up to my knees, and some 32-hole doc marten knockoffs. (used to have some maroon ones, no telling what happened to them.)

Serious yo. I'm going to dress this mother out. I want to walk in there and have people go WHADDAPHAQUE?

Can't wait to see the pic's. Seriously Man glue down your wig tight; then again shaking it off during a solo could be a real climax. I dunno, this gig sounds WILD ; it'd be worth the 24 hour trip over there

As long as you don't go for the bananna-in-a-hamock thong, I think it should work out and let the funk do the talking.

But be careful not to over-do it. I've seen some p-funkers that basically just turned out looking like fake dorkey clowns. It gotta be weird but still cool.
And be sure the whole band will dress up, not just you

Okay, "don't over do it" was the wrong term.
What I was trying to say is that if you're the only one on stage dressed up like that, it's just not as cool. There is a p-funk band here in holland with a bass player that just looks like a fake bootsy-wannabe, including star shaped glasses and a star shaped bass. It just doesn't work, mainly because the rest of the band doesn't dress up like that and the Bootsy look just doesn't suit him. Go for your own p-funk look is what I'm saying.

I'm the one on the right. That's Andrew on the left. THe thing that made my outfit more funk than punk was the suit pants tucked into my boots. Eeehhh- it was the closest I could do on a limited budget. ($0).
