So whats the format gonna be...? If we can download the album on monday.. what are we in for.. Windows Media format or mp3?

Exactly...WMA files that can be played through Windows Media 9 only, and can be burned to CD. There are bunches of other restrictions in terms of where and when you can actually listen to it, but fuck if I care. The only way I'm paying for a WMA is if it's something not available elsewhere, and then I'll just reformat the bitch to an mp3 anydamnway. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I aint paying for the single tracks if im gonna get the whole album from attending the concert.I can always copy the tracks to my computer the where i dont have use the cd.But i WONT! be shareing it on the internet of course since its illegal. Prince Fan~Natic 22 Years & Counting

Yeah, but my experience with WMplayer is that the files are not cd quality.. their like equivalent to 128kbps or 160kbps..

If you believe what the moderators have said in the U Tell Us forums, there will be rights-protected Windows Media files AND "an alternative for Macintosh users." The rights-protected WM files will not play on the most recent version of Windows Media Player for Mac OS, and PP9 replied in one of the posts in the U Tell Us forum that there would be alternatives for Mac users.

I hope he gets the quality high on these babys.  Digital downloads are pretty much never CD quality, no matter what anyone says to the contrary. CD's have a stereo bitrate of 1400kbps. To get CD quality, you usually have to have the CD. Purple Fact #542: Prince can make a Weeble™ fall down. | |

I can't complain when my only option is 256kbps and I can only get the track in this form. I would of course, much prefer Prince to release Cds versus downloads.
