Shipping to Europe too expensive

Hi,

As the shipping of NEWS to Europe is almost as much as the CD itself, I sent an email to the NPG to enquire whether they are planning to have a co-location in Europe to bring down shipping cost. Here is their reply:

---
Dear Kafkan,

Thank you for choosing Musictoday. The only place in the world to order N.E.W.S. is in our online store. That may change in the future, but for now, you'll have to pay the shipping costs if you want the CD. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

Dave

Looks like we'll have to bite the bullet and support the UPS charity after all.

Peace,

K.

I think $8.99 is about £5 - £6. That's the usual postage price for sending somthing to the US from the UK. Considering the album is only about £8 I think it's a good deal. (I still have to wait till I get my check though, I'm in a spot of debt pissed )

$18.99 for N.E.W.S it's a rip off, you can get some good music for that that price.
Are we going to buy any s*it he brings out?
Xpectation was a pile of pony s*it and so is n.e.w.s or should it be called old n.e.w.s

Over here in England CDs are expensive. $18.99 is the same cost for any other CD album in the shop. And I've not heard any decent music come out here in the UK since Sophie Ellis Bextor ( And Tatu's single boxed )

Whether or not it's worth it is purely subjective. Since you should know what it sounds like by now if you don't like it, don't buy it.

If you've ever ordered anything from overseas before, you know it costs about that much for shipping. Everything costs more to ship if there's import/export involved. That price is in line with ordering from any website in the US to Europe. Even in European shops, the CD's going to cost about that much. The best way to save on overseas shipping is to buy more than one. Maybe some friends who also want the cd can go in on it with you, and you can place one order instead of a few.

You won't buy it, but you'll wait for it to be on ebay for $1.00. {clears my throat} Here's a clue, you'd still be buying it. If you really thought it was not worth it you wouldn't buy it no matter the cost. So I'm led to believe your problem has nothing to do with the quality of N.E.W.S., you just don't have the cash for it. And that's ok, we all know that money gets tight at times, and if you had admitted that instead of trashing and bashing, myself or someone else may have helped you out. But nooo, too much pride for that, huh?

I was delighted with the shipping cost.

If you ever purchased anything from NPGMC previously, you would have been stung with a $15 shipping charge!
RIP sad

I won't buy it for $10 because it's crap, but for £1 i'll get it for the collection.

But its not being sold in the shops.

That aside, you need to shop around my friend. Most new albums are available at £8.99 or £9.99. Try Tesco!

With shipping to Europe, NEWS is still expensive, especially for an EP. Still, its better than the old prices.

I ordered a US CD last week, it came in 3 days and cost me $12.99, including postage.

(PS....whispering...I love the TATU single...)

They tell you on the NPGMC that it will be avaliable in the shops, and as no-one will buy it, in about 6 months it will be there for about £1.
Remember Emancipation?
you can pick that up for £4.in the shop.
i brought a second copy on e-bay for 99p and 80p postage.
thats not bad is it?

Well, I 'm a regular ebay user and it just cost me two pounds twenty today to post a triple CD album to California from England. I can't be arsed going to a currency converter website, but that's got to be less than two dollars. Mind you, as I charged the poor girl six quid, I have no fucking room to talk. I guese we all err to the side of caution. Anyway, stop shitting yourselves, I'll buy a few copies of 'N.E.W.S.' and whack 'em on ebay with a decent starting price & maybe you can all save a few pence?

How's that sound?

£2.20 is $3.66
£6.00 is $9.99

Either way she got a better price than from NPGMC. Not that I am complaining though, (see earlier post).

Never mind. Perhaps when you go to the store and ask if they have it, they will respond with, "It's behind you".

I'm actually hoping The Fairy Godmother is going to appear and magically turn NEWS into a good album!
