I think not. Prince seems to be happy for iTunes to resell the odd new single track now on his behalf, whereas during the NPGMC time he was obviously unhappy at the idea that Apple would get a cut. Other mp3 freebies are "given" away via his NPG members on fb, twitter, soundcloud etc albeit for a temporary time.

The Musicology store part was obviously one of the better parts of the site, I personally never had any problem downloading and playing the licenced wma files. I even bought a "Plays For Sure" Rio Carbon mp3 player specifically so I could listen to these tracks on the move (still have it with all the NPGMC tracks I downloaded on it.

Like others, the only time I had a problem was when the site closed along with the WMA licence administrators. I upgraded my PC and bought a new hard disk etc. I messed up with the file/licence transfer and now cannot play/burn my purchased songs (I had most of them burned to CD though and the rest are on my Carbon so not all lost).

I still find it weird that he does not have any official website but there you go ...that's his prerogative.

Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

He may figure that the extra revenue that he would get from direct online purchases wouldn't justify the expense of hiring a web designer. Of course, websites can also serve as a promotional tool, but we are doing that for him here at the org at no cost to him.

It may come as a shock to some new fans, however, when they look for the official Prince site and end up here instead, hearing us bitch about how he hasn't done anything worthwhile in the past 20 years or so.

The Census Bureau estimates that there are 2,518 American Indians and Alaska Natives currently living in the city of Long Beach.

Prince's future site should be called THE VAULT.
