6 reasons why we are disappointed!

These three press releases or articles specifically state what we will get with our membership. Unfortunately most of this has nothing to do with the contract on Lotusflow3r.Feel free to add to the list or correct me if I am wrong!


1. Exclusive first week content and a T-shirt – (No exclusive content and no T-shirt yet)
2. Exclusive information about private or secret shows (I have learned about all gigs thus far, from other sources)
3. Possible full length concerts, as well as unreleased music (No unreleased music, but some unreleased video)
4. An array of Film footage and music from the vault (No music from the vault; some film footage)
5. Perks such as live-cam concerts from the mansion (This will be March 25th, 2010, and we will all subscribe again)
6. First dibs at tickets to live shows, unannounced gigs (Trouble with initial access for some of us, did not justify the trip to go to only one gig)

The truth is, these articles and press releases colored our perception, and that is why we are disappointed!

Write the authors of the articles that helped color your expectations and let them know just how off-base their articles have turned out to be.

That is on the newspaper.. and pretty much says.. yo ass ain't gettin anything else.

This is a problem when you promise things & then try to deliver them on the fly.

I'm disappointed to say the least. I got robbed. I was really expecting something comparable to NPGMC... But that's our Prince(of thieves), always promising and rarely delivering.

The last two memberships I've purchased, have been very satisfying to me and sometimes pleasantly suprising. The new music, the chat rooms and merchandise were fun and exciting. I got music unavailable to the public and first shot at countless concerts. I had tickets so close If I wanted to I could reach out touch him. I recieved so many things from my past memberships, I can't remember what I paid for and what I recieved for free. I am thankful and satisfied with what I recieved from my past memberships.

I joined lotus flow3r with the only expectation of getting good concert tickets and a chance at maybe getting some exclusive music. When I signed up I didn't know the album and a shirt came with the membership. I had already bought the album at Target before I found out about the site. So I guess I paid twice for the album and got an extra song, and a T-shirt on the way. At this point I don't feel that the site is what I thought it would be, especially if I compare this site to Prince's past sites.

I'm not going to be negative and say anything mean because that would be the easy thing to do. I am a little sad though. Being that he is Prince I expected more from his site launch. And because of his spunkyness and energy I sometimes forget that he is 50. Maybe at 50 he's doing the best he can. I told myself along time ago that I wouldn't put my faith in people to make me happy and that I would adjust to others and thier actions and make my own happiness. I still believe in making my own happiness. If I make a mistake or bad judgment on my road to happiness, I learn from it. I knew it was a gamble before I spent my 77.00. I still feel like the odds are in my favor. I never loan or spend money unless I can stand to lose it or accept the possibility of getting hosed. For now I will wait and see what lesson I learn.

I guess I just don't get the beefing around here like Prince fans are brand new. He promises stuff: he snatches it away. He's done it for over 10 years. I don't let it bother me. I joined because I don't want to miss anything just in case.

It says we're jaded and that's sad. Prince has cultivated a pessimism that's necessary to put up with his antics.

You're right: the only people who even thought this was going to be anything special were those who were not long time fans/followers/members/etc. That includes lazy journalists who get their writing/talking points from press releases, and it also includes the Lotusflow3r designers who admittedly were not familiar with Prince's work... so whatever he gives them is new and exciting.

But hell even some long time fans who got to preview the site at his house and elsewhere came back and posted "something you've never seen! it's amazing!" type reviews.

In the end, like you I am not surprised, but I am in perpetual state of disappointment as far as this site is concerned. And it's like the law of inertia--and object at rest tends to stay at rest until another object comes into contact with it. Until something happens to turn this around, Lotusflow3r is wilted and dried up.
