Ain't it funny how those developers can only be arsed to talk to people who won't ask hard questions? When has Joe EVER asked anyone a hard question?

Easy explanation to that. One of my first gigs in radio was engineering the syndicated feed of the Larry King show on the overnights at WNAB. biggrin

So what questions did you ask that you think were hard?
We just want to clear up the smoke that is there. Not have fluff-talk.
Why did stuff happen the way it did? Both technically and P-interactively?
Why wasn't the site initially presented in the state that it is now?
Where are they coming from?
Why did they take the job, aside from the $$$? Did they know anything about the previous www-endeavours of mr P? Do they get any sleep? Do they make any money on the deal? Etc.
I can think of more after some coffee and the 2nd half of my breakfast.

The fact that the developers have communicated with the org to give updates on their troubleshooting shows that they are making an effort, but you have to blame Prince for the choice of content and decision to hire a couple individuals to do something of a greater traffic magnitude than what they are used to dealing with.

With all the cash that flooded Lotusflow3r's bank-account, i guess it won't be much of a problem for them to hire some extra people who will reply to and handle the overload of technical + creditcard-complaints by e-mail ?

Depending on guessed member numbers, traffic amounts and thus costs, etc: yes or no.
Also they need to buffer for quieter times, buffer for the credit crisis and the inflation to go with that. So: perhaps not.

TWO THUMBS UP for that!
I have been trying to become a member since the launch, but guessing that since I live in Dubai and have a billing address in Dubai I am not getting accepted.
REALLY ANNOYING!

It's gotten horribly slow to load, since it became HTTPS.
Security but crap service, great.
can we not have both?

https alone doesn't cut it for security.
Maybe for credit card numbers but for the rest of the site it is overkill indeed. It also contrasts enormously with the unprotected nature of the content.

Yeah, I don't think I've seen a https site for music/video etc. Just for CC details/sign up. have they just stuck that on and told THE BOSS, yup its secure now?

Could be. But how do we explain them the situation is slightly different?
And could be improved upon?
