DID U BUY DOWNLOADS FROM THE NPGMC?

If so, please let us know some details below if you can. myself and a few former members are doing some research

how much $$$ do you estimate you spent on downloads?

Audio / Videos?

have you tried to back up all your downloads/licenses (to a CD/DVD/ext HD) yet?

did it work?

did you lose access to your purchased music/videos when the NPGMC closed down?

Why - what happened? (ie system crash, HD failure, iPod or MP3 player broke, error message, etc)

Do you use iTunes?

if not, what audio programs do you use?

are you a Windows or Mac user?

Anything else you want to say on this topic?

hard to tell yet, i keep getting an error, but possibly my cd burner, gonna investigate more this weekend and get back to you

Yes, I hopefully they will make the previous downloads available through the new site. I downloaded all my music a few days after the site went dark because of hard drive failure. I had them burned onto cd at one point, but the cd's have been damaged.

BUT, here is a good question for you. When you purchase a music cd in a store, if it gets damaged, lost or stolen, are you entitled to a new one? Should downloadable music follow the same theory, or should it be made available until the day you die? If I am not mistaken, I think there are some online stores out there that don't let you download more than a certain number of times. Would love to hear others thoughts on the "no new cd if damaged" vs. "no new downloads if lost" issue.

I backed up the licenses.

I did a re-install on my pc and loaded them back, however I have not been successful in getting the licenses to work. THe website that was up with the downloads is now gone and the backup licenses did not work.

I guess we get screwed again?
