Minneapolis Paper Reports- NPGMC "in flux":

Prince's NPG club in flux July 11, 2006

Not long after a trademark suit was filed against Prince's fan website, NPGMusicClub.com, the site has shut down. An attorney for the singer says the events are unrelated.
A book company in England, HM Publishing Holdings, filed the trademark opposition on July 3 based on its own NPG, a science-book subsidiary called the Nature Publishing Group

Prince's attorney in the case, David Schelzel, said the legal action is minor, and he pointed out that Prince already has approval of the name from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

"Prince's use of the NPG or Paisley Park trademarks is no way in jeopardy," Schelzel said.

So why shut down the site?

"Wait and see," was Schelzel's only comment.

Last month, New York's RED Distribution announced a new deal in which it will be the "sole distributor" of all NPG products (Prince's NPG, that is).

Soon after, an e-mail was sent out to NPG members saying the site had entered "a time of great reflection and restructuring."

The online club started around 2000, and it won Prince a Webby Award in June for being an Internet innovator.

"In its current 4m ["form," that is], there is a feeling that the NPGMC has gone as far as it can go," the e-mail said. "The future holds nothing but endless opportunity. Don't u want 2 come?"

Yeah, that's kinda weird, but maybe it has something to do with Liza Hernandez (aka Ms. Panama)? Isn't that her voice on Lolita, speaking in Spanish? Maybe Tamar's new album is just an elaborate ruse when really Prince & Liza are gonna hit us with a Latin vibe CD. smile

Or maybe it has something to do with those new age type of "audio DVDs" Mani's Gamillah website is selling: http://www.gamillah.org/n...rhythm.asp

hmmm

Maybe someone should tell HM Publishing about this NPG Music group, too. j/k lol

Anx's thread in the Prince forum seems to help clear this up...

"NPG Music" is neither "NPGMC" nor "NPG Music Club"

God doesn't just tells me how much he "LOVE's" me, God shows me how much he "LOVE's" me. Both telling and showing "LOVE" means to "LOVE". They go hand in hand. You can't have one with out the other. Something is spoken, then followed by an action. That is

*cross post*

I skimmed through this thread, the links, and Anx's thread in Music & More again quickly--but I didn't find the answer to this:

Is the NPG in NPG Music definitely an acronym for New Power Generation or is it for something else?

Cause if it stands for something else, then it seems even less probable that Prince is associated with it...but then again, who knows? Stranger things have happened.

Ok, but if you claim you are someone who gets it straight from the source, or I believe you said it in those terms when you first posted about knowing about some tour (or not) happening, I would think by now that someone from P's camp heard about you talking about this before the club closed down, if I am not mistaken, and they claim you don't know what you are talking about. Even if it is true, Prince needs to fire the person that's giving you all this info.
