NPGMC: The Members Rock!

Hello NPGMC,

As a follow up 2 yesterday's emale, we wanted 2 send a message of thanx
2 all the members of the NPG Music Club. We want 2 make it clear that
the NPGMC appreciates all the support the members have given us over the
past 4 years. This music club has been a tremendous success and we
thank each and every one of u 4 being a part of this xperiment in truth.
Prince is an xceptional artist and it only makes sense that he has
xceptional fans. 2gether we r showing the world what a truly independent
artist and his community can do.

obviously they've been reading our reactions 2 the previous emale in this forum, & realised that they had crossed a line...

i guess this is damage control, npgmc style.

Oh so what? They think that just by saying 'The Members rock!' is gonna make a difference?

yeah, well, i guess they felt a need to respond to all the feathers that got ruffled by yesterday's e-mail, and this is how they communicated. i will agree that it's "too little, too late", but i can also be glass-half-full about it: at least npgmc acknowledged, in their own way, the fact that folks were taken aback by the whole "buy or die!" message - and acknowledgment is a start.

i just wish npgmc was capable of engaging with more candor when communicating with the fans (or the 'club members', whatever ya wanna call us). if they send out an e-mail one day that pisses everyone off, why not simply send an e-mail the next day saying "npgmc sees our last e-mail rubbed some folks the wrong way. oops!" and then respond to some of the criticisms with a bit of humor and insight? it's really not difficult to do.

of course, maybe npgmc didn't think it wrote a single word that was out of line in their 'tell a friend' e-mail yesterday, and that in npgmc's estimation, it's the fan community that has the problem.

They should send out "We Love You, You Rock" emails once a month. I wouldn't worry about the follow up email too much, it was just a clarification and a nice comment.
