i'm 14 and i went to see him in sydney last year... i don't think you have anything to worry about, if this was prince in the 80's i'd think twice about it but he's all cleaned up his act now. as you said, he even specifically said "bring your kids" so take your 8-y.o, show her what true funkiness is all about! Just be prepared for "Mommy, I gotta pee now!" during the one song you're most dying to hear. And when everybody in front of her stands up, she'll be at a distinct disadvantage.

I wouldn't. I have an eight year old daughter, and I won't take her to the Reno show. Concerts are inappropriate for kids under ten. Not because of the artist performing, but because there will be a cloud of pot smoke in certain areas, and I don't want her exposed to that. Yeah, I know, I'm an old biddy. | |

Absolutely do it. I've taken my son to the last two Prince shows here in Houston. He saw "Hit and Run" when he was 7, and "The Rainbow Children" when he was 9 (third row for that one).

It doesn't matter the age as long as the person appreciates music in general. However, please, please, please don't have that child next to the speaker. The ear drums are delicate and cannot be replaced.
