it's not even been a month since the show happened... give it time... Actually I would say that the concert on the 21st SUCKS...but the concert we are talking about, the 22nd is a GOOD recording. It was done on a minidisc, whereas the 21st was done on an mp3 recorder.

Agreed. The recording of the 22nd is really quite good. Brings back memories of a sensational night - especially the encores!

the quality of the 21st show is something I would expect from a concert recording from 1986.

DAMMIT ! woah there...that's a little much. i think perhaps because there was such tight security? afterall, we missed a great portion of the 22nd because the bootleggers recorder was taken by a bounce (so I've heard). also, many of the oz p fan bootleggers might be a little less experienced; might only be bootlegging for the first time 'cause it's prince and he's not been in the country for 11 years. Blame Prince for THAT, as usual. We're just fans. It's not even been a month since the concert, so hang in there...I think better recordings will surface, hopefully of Sydney (1st show, I was there! it was awesome). Hang tight! . Let me just say that this recorder was a novice - this was his 'first' live recording ever...i think he did alright!

Dude...that's a bold selection of words. Although I personally find the analogy slightly distasteful, it may raise a smile with some. bold edit [This message was edited Wed Nov 5 15:50:08 PST 2003 by Number23] It's alright Ma

Also, security was tight as a 13yo virgin...was thinking of taping the soundchecks - but if i did i would've had 5 venue bouncers and 3 of Prince's chimps to contend with in a crowd of less than a 100? I hope more recordings surface though... Those guys at the Sydney gig were a bit harsh, they were running the show like a concentration camp. "Don't walk here", "U can't do this..", "U can't do that". During the actual show, a girl raised a lighter in the air during Purple Rain, the security in the front shined a flshlight in her eyes (in other words, telling her not to do it). It was hard 4 those who had any sort of recording device, seeing security were making such a big deal on cell phones alone

I believe they are about $1000 AUSD for a basic one. That's alot of dough whenyou run the risk of getting thrown out. That's good news from Neversin though. Good recordings will surface on the usual labels. and what's $1000 for most people ? a weeks wages - so what Unless you make your living at Mcdonald's I don't see why you couldn't buy one.

With regards to poor Bootlegs well I guess we just don't have that 'Bootleg Culture' ...people usually go to gigs just to enjoy themselves and listen to music. And by the way, I went to the Japan shows as well as the Australian shows and the security was so much tougher for the Oz gigs. man you got some good fantasies there. I guess we just don't have that 'Bootleg Culture' you got that right. you funny ! FunkyStrange, I am not talking fantasy here my friend - I'm talking facts. I'm certainly not suggesting that Australia is leading the world in IT development (we do pretty good by the way but we are not Silicon Valley) - I'm talking about the fact that Australians 'adopt' new technology faster than other countries on a per capita ratio. Emphasise is on the word 'adopt' - meaning we Aussies are quick on the uptake to use new technology and make it part of our lives. We are only a country of 19 million and on a per capita ratio our population use more mobiles than the U.S, or Europe - infact 76% of Australians owm a mobile which is an amazing figure when you think about it. (By the way we don't call them Cell phones incase I'm confusing you) ...and we use a digital GSM & Satellite network - unlike the U.S. that still mainly uses an old analogue network (which is perfectly understandable considering the HUGE population and cost involved in going digital completely) ...because Australia has a 100% mobile digital network we do use video phone technology - it's called the '3 network' (Aussies will know about 3) ...and it's far more advanced than that WAP technology. Sorry to bore you with these facts (I usually like to discuss music) but I just get pissed off with Northern Hemisphere folk thinking Australia is some backwater. Yes most of Australia is desert (the Outback) ..but this is in the Centre of our great land - just about ALL of the population live in vibrant modern cities on the coasts. You wouldn't believe the ignorance we Aussies put up with travelling overseas. In America these are some of the questions and comments I got: "Do you have electricity down under?" "Do you have Restraunts and bars?" "I suppose you can't buy music in Australia huh?" "Wow, for an Australian you speak good English!" ...haha, I gotta admit that I found most of these comments quite funny cuz the ignorance displayed just outstanded me. I also learned that most Americans couldn't find Australia on a world map. Because of our geographic isolation in the world we have HAD to adopt mobiles, computers and internet technologies faster than most - it keeps us in contact with the rest of the world - albeit for personal or business reasons. And by the way, I own an iPod, Minidisc player, digital camera & a DAT recorder and I don't live in Alice Springs - I live in Melbourne. I suppose you though I'd own a Boomerang and 80's walkman huh? Fucking hell ...come down here and pay us a visit!

Now that you have finished your little rant. 1) I AM Australian 2) and i still say you are living in a fantasy world. [This message was edited Wed Nov 12 15:23:35 PST 2003 by FunkyStrange] Haha... yeah, yeah I know I'm ranting but it is the truth. Anyhow, I'm onto you FunkyStrange - you're not Australian your English! You live in Cornwell. Either that or you're a typical Aussie living in the U.K. ...man, I've done that - great times. But you sound like it's gone to your head ...wow, I bow down to your superiority - living in the "Mother land" and all... If you're nice to me I might actually be able to give you a Melbourne Bootleg that sounds awesome... curious?
