liv warfield in Seattle again - Thanksgiving week

Liv Warfield is doing 7 shows over the course of a week in Seattle during the week of Thanksgiving. Looking forward to going to multiple shows. She was amazing this past summer...

Next week the 7 show run begins with a gospel brunch.

Lucky people over there in Washington state and the west coast! I saw her act earlier this season and it was an all-around spectacular show. Great energy and interaction, a marvelous voice and stellar band--Adrian Crutchfield and a few other members of the NPG Horns were featured on the stage. I think that Prince would be proud of her right now.

Absolutely. I saw the shows this summer with the NPG Hornz and it was great. Tomorrow is the "gospel brunch".

I missed the gospel brunch last Sunday, but saw both shows tonight. The early show tonight was a Liv show. The late show highlighted the band's talent. It's a treat when she goes from Embrace Me into Love and Happiness, and she did that during the early set. Saeeda Wright sang lead on a song during both sets. The early set she did Funkin for Jamaica. The late show she did "Money Don't Matter Tonight". Liv did "The Bird" during the early set which was pretty cool. During the first set she came down into the audience and danced for awhile. I think the only song she did both sets was Blackbird. I believe each set was completely different other than that. Which in my opinion was great. The crowd was super small for the late show. Definitely worth the $17 ticket price.

I'll be at the Friday and Saturday shows. If the energy is the same that'll be great.

We missed the early show tonight, but made the 10p.m. show. It was the longest of the shows so far at an hour and 40 minutes. The late show was clearly a band set again. Embrace Me had her Portland friend Farnell Newton featured on trumpet. My highlight was "I Decided". Beyond that the end of the show was great too. She did You Got the Love again. Then she went into Why Do You Lie, You Got the Look, a snippet or two from Snoop songs, and the band closed it out with Mustang Sally.

Apparently she and the club owner have become friends. I hope this means more runs like this in the future. If you really like seeing Liv live it would be worth coming out to Seattle if she does it again. There is great sound, and its a small but nice venue. The club owner has provided food for everyone (for free) both nights, so we only paid for drinks. There is a bar, but the venue is open to all ages. It has a really nice vibe.

Tonight was a lot of band songs during both sets. It was sort of like going to two after-party shows. She did her usual stuff, but fewer of her own songs. Liv did "What Have You Done For Me Lately." The keyboardist Xavier Jackson did Mary Jane. Her back up singer "Red" was amazing doing his Jodeci impression singing Come and Talk to Me. Someone yelled "Stay" afterward, but we only got one Jodeci cover. They did Al Green's It's Alright with Liv on stage. And we all chanted "Shit God Damn, get off your ass and jam" because you need a little Parlaiment/Funkadelic. Saeeda did Money Don't Matter Tonight again and her own song Pushing On. Liv and the band did Jungle Love and The Bird. DMSR was a nice surprise. Keith Anderson was the only semi-regular member of the horns, but even with a short amount of practice they were tight.
