Andy Allo @ Hotel Cafe 7/20/2018

Well... since the last time I posted this in the ASSOCIATED ARTISTS THREAD, it was moved (go figure)... I'm now posting it in the would be defunct CONCERTS page.

(Because Ostensibly the CONCERTS thread was for Prince concerts)

https://www.hotelcafe.com...mp;id=7979

Ticket link above.

My main question is... Is anybody (else) on the "ORG.COM" going?

[see? I remembered that... trying to appeal to ur humor]

I haven't been to one of her shows. Peace.

I'm not in L.A. but I'm hoping that she streams some of the show like she has before. I see that she posted on her site that she will be playing with her band.

I've never understood that.. is that another "eccentricity" of the moderators here?

Cause right in the header for "ASSOCIATED ARTISTS etc" it states "former band members, ex girlfriends etc......

Of which I believe she's both. Having appeared on much of P's work and alongside on stage for many shows in the 2010's. Heck, She guest vocals on his last albums. ANd heck... Superconductor is like a tangent album with AOA..

I don't understand this place sometimes. One's rulebook...vis a vis another.

ANYways... I hope to make it. I don't believe I can release a ticket to anybody else without showing up myself... as I don't believe they actually issue physical tickets... See y'all there maybe

By the way.... and this is late..

I went to the gig, it was cool, leveled and intimate like most Hotel Cafe gigs.

Sorry 2 say that I don't have the set list...but I enjoyed her stylings and enjoyed when she tried out a new voice harmonizing pedal. it was neat. Sounded eerie as well.... cause one of the voices sounded like ....someone (P). Anyways, being that I'm not as familiar with her latest stuff, I recognized "When Stars Collide" at the end bit. I've always loved that song. Truly beautiful melody... especially the album version.

Always thought of Superconductor as a side Prince Album.. it ought to be essential listening.

She was gracious enough to take a pic and sign my pickguard. (unfortunately i didn't remove the damn mylar.... (rookie)... hahah... So it's never going to be used now.

Thanks for the review. She said during a recent Facebook Live that she will probably have her band with her for the next show. She sounded good from the IG clip I saw of her playing her new song "Angels" I agree about Superconductor. It's definitely one of the better protege albums. Cool that you got a pic with her and that she signed your pickguard.

Yeah... that's an understatement.

The early groups he produced were great, and so were the songs he gave away for Graffiti Bridge... but God....some of that stuff was atrocious. That hippy dippy shit that Ingrid Chavez did? HOOOORRRIBLE... I feel bad for Levi Seacer Jr. ... his name's on that shit.

Anyways.... Yeah. Once I heard that album it sounded like something romantic was up. Later on (recentlY) I realized how much so, with the Prince Copying Prince song 'Nothing More" being a deliberate nod to the song TITLED "The Love We Make", which I'd initially thought would be a love/lust/heat song... but was pleasantly surprised it was not.

Suppose that was an insiders cue to alert the authorities... Romance eh? Couldn't have been coincidentally the same structure

I haven't listened to Ingrid's album but some of the protege projects were pretty bad,I agree. I was really impressed with Superconductor on first listen. I hadn't thought about the reason behind the similarities of "Nothing More" and "The Love We Make" but that's an interesting theory since Prince most likely composed the music. They played them back to back at NSJ Festival too. Andy revealed on Twitter that she had not heard 'The Love We Make' before writing 'Nothing More' and it was a coincidence that they share the same chord structure.
