Cat Glover should shut her delusional ass up and be thankful Prince even hired her to be in his band and movie at all! If she doesn't have any financial stakes in the film, then she should be happy Showitme is showing Prince's magnum opus of a concert film and worry about getting as many shifts as she can at Subway, Mcdonalds, Dominos, or whatever low wage fast food spot she's working at. Like Kendrick Lamar said-BE HUMBLE!

Daaaammn. Feelin a draft over here cause that's COLD! falloff clapping

A) What's this "unseen footage" Cat is talking about?

2) What's this about a hologram Cat is talking about?

III) Why is this in "Concerts"? It seems to me like people that might be interested in this movie been aired on a cable station might not check this forum.

.
This is not where I originally posted it. It got moved.
If this isn't Prince music, what is? It's a movie!
Would they bury Purple Rain here?

Despite what Cat believes, Showtime is NOT pay-per-view cable.
As for the rights, they were in limbo for years when Cineplex went out of business

One press release from Showtime is saying the acquired he rights to the film. I did not see anything about unseen footage but that would be great if Showtime worked with the estate to get it.

Unless the band members in the movie had rights to the film no one has to ask their permission about anything. I think that Cat might be confused in thinking that are image cannot be broadcast without her permission or something like that.

She should have checked this out with her business manager first to see what if any rights she has.

Simply untrue. Around 2006/7 it was on Palladia, and someone mentioned Starz. Both of those are cable, and one is premium.

But that was 10 years ago and Palladia when it was last on my cable system was not premium. I also bet they showed it at one in the morning. I do not remember the cable channels showing it after he passed away so something was going on with the rights to the film.

When I recorded it 30 years ago it came on at 3:00am.

I love Cat but I think she is mistaken. She was hired to do her bit. She did it and was paid. She knew or should have know much of it was filmed. So even if there is extra footage she likely has no case. What she did was a work for hire.

As to extra footage? I wonder if she has heard something we have not? I hope so!

even if there is new footage. she would not have a good case to block it. Her consent was when she was being filmed. This would also apply to any recordings. It was a work for hire situation.

Concerts is the section to put a thread if you don't want anyone to read it. There are no new Prince concerts, so why would anyone even check here for anything new? This thread belongs in Prince music and more. I only found it because someone posted about it there.

I know I agree she is mis-informed. I do wonder what the estate is going to do with people who are actually co-writers on unreleashed songs.

Which Blu-ray do you have that looks worse than the DVD? Because that's not right.

This one https://www.amazon.com/gp...ref=plSrch The sound is excellent but the picture is a little grainy compared to Canadian dvd

The Australian Blu-ray is also the one I own. I watched it again last night on my 55" TV and while there is much grain in some of the darker areas, it's definitely sharper than the Canadian DVD. If you don't like grain then I suppose I can see why you'd prefer a smoother, but less-defined DVD image.

But for everyone else, if you have a Blu-ray player and HD TV, the Australian and Japanese Blu-rays are the best there are out there right now.

You would hope it would be that easy. Also what if some of those co-writers do not want the songs releashed they have a right to have a say so as co-writers.

Lots of assumptions.

I watched it, along with PR, UTCM, & GB during the day or prime time, not at 1am in the morning.

And plenty of channels shows the other three movies post-mortem, not that his being alive or not matters.

Showtime is also advertising a Whitney Houston movie or documentary in September, too. Perhaps they are kicking off a run of music related content. September is sweeps anyway.

Most of the songs are linked by a themed narrative and many film critics were quick to praise Prince as being a better actor live than in the previous year's unsuccessful romantic comedy Under the Cherry Moon. In total, 13 songs appear on the video - 11 from Sign o' the Times and two others - a brief piano version of "Little Red Corvette" and a cover version of Charlie Parker's "Now's the Time" (performed without Prince and showcasing each member of the band). Initially, there had been plans to include the full concert which featured many other non-Sign o' the Times songs (including "Kiss", "1999", "Purple Rain", "When Doves Cry", "Girls & Boys", and "Let's Go Crazy") but these songs were eventually dropped.

Cat is not exactly bright if she thinks she has any legal right to prevent SOTT from airing on Showtime. It's not even debatable that she has zero power or say-so over the airing of this concert movie. Re SOTT, she was a paid performer - nothing more.

And where is she getting the idea that there is "unseen footage" with this airing??? From the words "long unseen concert film" in the promo? Okayyyyy...

As for someone getting in touch with her business manager, someone might want to ask this business manager where Cat's "career" went once Prince let her go. Until Prince passed away last April, she had been seen and heard from the last 25 years as much as people in the Witness Protection Program.

Actually she continued to work for Prince at Glam Slam after Fagnoli dumped her as a client. I know that she has two kids and as been sick a lot over the last few years. The business manager actually post on this board and may have only started working with her recently.

Some footage of some of the songs cut out of the movie and some alternative takes and outakes.

It did not stay up long. Recently I saw the actual footage of " Its Gonna Be a Beautiful Night" as it was recorded live in 86.

Just knocked out that is just a jam that he went back and added lyrics to later.

I could not find any article stating it will be available as a pay per view movie. I did however find a link on Showtime's website stating it will be available on demand beginning September 17th if you are a Showtime subscriber and miss the first broadcast: http://www.sho.com/titles...-the-times
