The Revolution at Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia show, Saturday, April 29, 2017

The Revolution put on a great show last night!

.

Here is the set list. (I don't know how others record the set lists, but I used pen and paper.)

1. Computer Blue

2. America

3. Mountains

4. Automatic

5. Take Me With U

6. Uptown

7. DMSR

8. Unreleased track - Brown Mark said something to the effect of, "We went deep into the vault for this one." In the chorus, there were the words "It's alright." I also heard the word "garden" a few times in the song.

9. Raspberry Beret

10. Erotic City

11. Let's Work

12. 1999

Wendy did a reflection about the version of "Paisley Park" they played next. She said that the sound engineer working for The Revolution on this tour worked for Prince for many years. The sound engineer showed them a video of Prince's performance of "Paisley Park" during his last show at Paisley Park. It was a short version of Paisley Park, but I really enjoyed it.

13. Paisley Park

14. Controversy

Wendy shared another story about how she, Prince, and Lisa wrote "Sometimes It Snows In April" 30 some years ago on April 21st.

15. Sometimes It Snows In April - Only Wendy and Lisa were playing. Wendy played the guitar and Lisa played the keyboards (but it sounded like the piano).

16. Let's Go Crazy

17. Delirious

18. Kiss

19. When Doves Cry

20. Purple Rain

.

Encore

1. April 29 is the birthday of Wendy's son, Calder. He turned 11 yesterday. She asked the crowd to sing him Happy Birthday. After Purple Rain, my husband and I walked to the back of the theatre. So I couldn't see exactly, but she called Calder and it looked like she used Face Time. She told him something like "Mom has to work, but I wanted to call and wish you happy birthday." Anyway, he was listening while the crowd sang him Happy Brithday.

2. I Would Die 4 U

3. Baby, I'm A Star

.

I will write more about the show later, but I have to get ready for church now.

The tracks are Our Destiny and Roadhouse Garden. Soon to be released on the Purple Rain reissue.

I loved the show! It was inherently disappointing because Prince wasn't there, but besides that and them coming on stage 34 minutes late, it was fantastic!
